Ok, so here's my situation. I have a big open field near my house that screams to be made into a field. I've read a bunch of posts about wooden pallets and 55 gallon drums being used as bunkers, but my parents wouldn't take it too kindly if I put this stuff into their cars (volvo XC90 and audi a4). Is there anyway to make bunkers from stuff lying around at home, like trash bags?
Um, you gotta look around and see if there is anything big enough. Maybe tarps draped over 2 poles that have a string running between them and then staked to the ground????
If you have the time and energy, I've heard of people putting Dirt in trash bags and using those. You could also use tarps. They work alright. Any old junk that is in the attic or your going to throw away work. Like idk an old table or folding card tables. Two folding chairs pushed in the ground next to each other could work.

Remember teh god bunker? A card table, broke in 2, then a peice of plywood in the gap. It was awesome cause you could get into it on our feild and shoot the whole other team. It was like a fat, upside down T. Really cool.
People are suggesting filling pillow cases but that would pry ruin them, and you wouldnt have enough. Try to maybe buy sandbags, and you can pry get used tires from an auto dealership for cheap or free.
well the best i can tell you is to find anything you dont need laying around the house and use your imagination to build the field. me and my frined built 2 bases with a bunch of scrap wood from my dads summer project of a pole barn and extending the porch. Also he works at a machine shop and they had som many pallets you wouldnt believe it. but look around. take some from like the back of mejiers or walmart. ask some friends to use their vehicles and have them help you out. Or you can be like my friend and find stuff in his yard and make some forts like that. but hes a farmer. All i can tell you is just find stuff and throw it together. and eventually youll make a fort.

This is what we are in the process of maki9ng right now....But I do have a truck...So it's a little easier...like deadly said...Pallets work great...Most dumps GIVE them away or try Walmart...they have to pay to haul them away...UPS etc..etcc..So you will need a truck....rent one at lowes or home depot for like 20 bucks....and you'll be set. I have an acre and we are making a 150' x 100' field....Mainly what we are doing is like in the movie SWAT....Targets and places you have to go to...Points for hits and misses..etc..I am a 3D Animator at an Architectural firm, so I can plot out these awesome life size targets and just stick them upp.. Good luck and post some pics...My truck...

if your parents have two cars one worth 30k and another worth 40k, why don't they just buy you some sup'air'bunkers?
damn tightwads. lol, j/p! seriously though - if you have big field, and you have lawn mower - mow some laws of your neighbors houses (and even your own if your parents will pay you) and buy some wood and make some real decent bunkers or buy some inflatable bunkers in your area (you'll be surprised how many bunkers you can get for 1k.) and just set them up.
which if you mow 50 yards at $20 a piece you'll have 1k. i used to be able to 5-8 yards a day, once a week (depending on size, i would charge accordingly at a little over an hour a piece) and then if i could ever have saved money i could have had a field in 10 weeks. one quarter in high school...
i would suggest trying to make the field and earn the money you make the field with (dont steal anything!) you'll feel more accomplished when the field is finished and you'll have a much higher quality field.
please note, i'm saying mow lawns because i'm assuming you're young - if you're old enough to get a job do that instead. but if you're set on making a field (because you have a plan) and you don't want to use any car space, try to walk to a local place or get one of your friends to drive you and pick up some supplies from an ace or home depot.
and as one last note - the inflatable bunkers can be cleaned and fit into the trunk of any normal car without any mess or damage. so if you decide to save some skrilla and work it out, i'm sure your parents wont mind taking that stuff around for you... (and you'll have the coolest local field for miles! woot)

umm wheelburrows turned upside down, you can just spray them off, any old wood laying around, if their are woods around, you can probaly find some old peices of wood and stuff.
get some air bunkers and just do what i said and you should be good, ask ur friend if they have anything and anybody in your school if they'll help you out also

Hm, well, if you dont have transport you are pry screwed until you get a car. Until you can you might just be stuck at playing at real fields, bummer huh?
wtf? How are you gonna be able to hide under over turned wheel barrows? Thats pretty small.
well im pretty small, and i should have rephrased it, the ahnd wheelburrows are large enough to cover a kneeling person, but i mainly use like a large waggon/wheelburrow.
Hm, since were kinda on the topic, in shop class me and my friends made a pillbox/tower. It was a pillbox on the bottom and a castle type tower on top, its all about 12 feet high or so and we used to for our personal dday. Yeah, we had boats go across a lake but you only have to do it once. This year we are making another one, then also hooking a bridge up between the tops with a passageway underneath it. Then we have a nother one that someone else built and they are giving it to us to use and we will connect them all in a triangle and fill gaps in with sheet metal. I'll post pics up when we are done because it will be an awesome fort.
Yeah, i know a ton of this had nothing to do with the thread
me and my friend had this same problem
if therer r any woods around ur house look for fallen brances or small fallen trees and move them into the field then u stack them on top of each other till it is high enough
or u could get some old wood and just make a bunker out of that a piece of ply wood w/ a 2x4 if front and behind it on each side ( this is my favorite home made bunker it works really well )
if u put that in the middle of the field so ity cna b used by both teams
