just get a mech spyder or electro spyder. I have a tippmann 98c pro for my woodsball gun. I only went with a tippmann because i traded old speedball gear for it and it has a cool carbon finish.

If I were you, instead of spending 200 bucks on an A5, get a nice 45/4500 HPA tank and then use the rest of the money you have left over to play.

BTs are nice.
Although you said no Smart Parts, take a look at the SP1. It's a tank in the woods and would work fine.

I have thaught about that BUT if you remember my ion hasnhad way too many problems and every time i go paintball something happens. Even people at the feild tell me the gun is cursed and i should get rid of it. But like i said, Tanks are too expensive and used ones are F-up by having deep scratches and many dings. I will look more into getting a tank. And plus i need a new regulator and i dont wanna spend $80.00 on one and noby at the feild has a used one.

And i dnt wanna use my ion in the desert ( i live in New mexico) and i dont want dirt and **** in my gun and then it just happens to break. I know how to take it apart (with my eyes closed and im serious) and clean it but dirt gets every where.

Ach, all you people saying that Tippmann's aren't worth it for the money, I disagree. When you find me a gun that will, stock, survive as much or survive as long as a Tippmann will (AKA no lubrication, no maintenance, nothing), I will concede my devotion to Tippmanns for woods and beginner guns. While it costs a little more than a Spyder, you wil get a gun that will last MUCH longer. Pick up a $30 barrel and you're good to go.

Don't buy the Alpha, there's no point. The stock on a paintball gun is pointless and is awkward to use. As well, with a paintball mask on, you won't be able to use the sights without contorting your neck into a strange and awkward position.

I would suggest just the normal A-5. If that feels like too little for you, get a double trigger and an E-Grip and you'll be rocking until kingdom come (quite literally).

THANK YOU M4MANIAC! The A5 is very light to me and yet, it suits my needs.

I will probably get either a hammerhead or a J&J barrel and plus, new revolvers in the hopper, i will get foam ones so, i dont have as high if a risk of a broken ball.

Would you also recomend a Lo-Pro hopper?

you all talk bad about Tippmann but in my research i haven't seen anywhere where they were sued by anyone for patent infringement (other than there lawsuit agenst Ben Tippmann for "copyright" "name sake") or sued by sp for some stupid bull $hit

I am apposed to tippmann for a simple reason they stand up to new players who don't know anything about paintball.

Wait thats not a bad thing @ all my first suggestion is not to buy a new tippmann as cost is a little high

look on the nation (pbnation.com) you can find a lot of medium grade players looking to sell there tippmanns because they are upgrading you can usually find a decently upped 98 for like $120

other than tippmann i suggest that you initial problem with your ion is you play in the sand and improper cleaning is the root issue of it not functioning properly rather than your gun being haunted.

as far as upgrades lo-pro hopper is only a cosmetic upgrade it will give you no performance up @ all and the fact that you suggest foam paddles just makes me laugh get some squishy paddles from tech t they will last longer

other suggestions are replacing the sear release spring with hard drive magnets as this will increase your rate of fire with a mech trigger.

Automags. The problem with new players and markers isn't that they don't know to oil the markers but that they are terrified of taking a marker apart and wrecking it so they drop some oil in and that is as far as their maintenance goes. Automags can be taken apart with the removal of a single thumbscrew and can be put back together in seconds. The materials are better quality and there are few moving parts so there is almost nothing on an Automag that can wear out or break Automags built back in the early nineties are still working today. I seriously doubt that any Tippmann or Spyder built today will still be working ten years from now they are built with cheap materials and sloppy tolerances because they are meant to be replaced. It is expected that players will keep their marker for a year or two at the most and then buy something else. Anybody that thinks a pot metal Tippmann is tough and reliable hasn't seen a true high end mechanical marker before.

The only problem i have with tippmanns is that they cost too mmuch. Sure they last forever but most people who can buy a marker most likely will buy a new marker anyhow within 3 years. And for the people who play like once every 3 months can just get a spyder or something for cheaper but faster. Too me spyders seem like they are too simple to break, and if they do they are easy to fix.

I don't get how people can say that Tippmanns are overpriced or that they cost too much that depends on a person's budget and what they are looking for in a marker. Personally I wouldn't take a Spyder if it was free and if Spyders were the only markers left I'd quit paintball before using one but that's just me.

You'll always have people like that. But to get a tippman as good as a spyder you have to put into it at least what you spent. that's my problem with them.

Honestly tell me that all or at least some of you haven't spent $300 on a marker and spent that much in upgrades ie reg, grips, barrel, bolt, hopper, air source, tools to work on your marker

so spending $150 for up grades on a $200 gun is not that bad

the fact is that for the same price you gt get the marker that has all that for cheaper than a stock tippman.

Spyder Pilot is a good woodsball gun. Its electronic and gets about 13bps. I'd just put a new barrel barrel on it and youd be set
