agreed, if you loose a back it is easy to replace, when people pick it up they just about crap themselves because they are used to the aluminum tube that they have been using for so long. go grab your marker, take the barrel off, and thats what it feels like with the DW on

Ive used about everything. Bout the only thing I was ever disappointed in was an empire kit and it wasn't that bad.
Most used by me was either a SP All American ( I had like 4 shockers. ) and other than that prolly a pepperstick or a stiffi. But I never owned a stiffi or DW I've just used them some times. Just never had the money for the carbon fiber.
I have owned every barrel kit worth owning and some that weren't. Hammerhead, UL(pricey as hell), and DW were hte only ones that I really liked.I also had an Edge kit, CP kit, Stiffi switch kit, Joy stick(Joy stiffi), and oodles upon oodles of miscellaneous barrels. The DW truly was the only one that just wowd me in it's performance.

I've never been impressed with CF kits. I have a sly, used DW's and Stiffi. Stiffi is pretty low class. Sly and DW are good, but not good enough to justify their price IMO. I love my J&J Edge the most, along with the MacDev Matchstick. Matchstick pretty heavy, but incredibly nice. But as long as the barrel is good quality, it's going to shoot pretty much identical to any other barrel.

wes.
Oh yeah I forgot about all the matrixes I've ever had. So I used a UL a lot of the time.
I'm a big fan of the Freak kits whether it be with a DW barrel or a normal SP barrel. One of the things I really like about it is that you don't have to buy a whole new kit if you change the gun you are shooting. My only complaint with them is the inconsistency with the sizers.
If you're still dead set against the freak then the JandJ kit is good as is the evil pipe. If you're shooting a cocker threaded body I'd also recommend a full Kaner kit if you can get your hands on one.
I've been very happy with my FREAK, the whole inconsistancy thing isn't a big issue for me. As long as it shoots straight and I can get the right bore match, I'm good.

ya i dont know where that started but i took a feeler guage and a micrometer to mine, they were all within .001" of what they were marked as

Apparently, when the FREAK first came out, it sucked big balls (like the Evil Pipe). I think what is happening is even after SmartParts fixed their quality control issues, the bad reputation just continued to stick to it.
Anyways, for the price, its a great little barrel kit, and to swap markers, all you need is a new back, not a whole barrel kit
I accept with information: if you loose a back it is easy to replace, when people pick it up they just about crap themselves because they are used to the aluminum tube that they have been using for so long.
