Need suggestions for upcoming CTF

Hello, I am new to this forum and probably will become a regular to it over the next couple months. I want to say thank you for your suggestions in advance.

This Is what I am planning in the spring.
My buddy and I are wanting to host a CTF tourney in the woods. (a very large area of woodland mixed with fields.) I, being former USMC Infantry, will command one team. While my friend (having knowledge of the land) will command his team. We plan on having 11 players per team (ourselves included.) This will be a three day, non-stop event. (That means raids at 3:00 am and all. We will bring tents and set up bases the whole 9 yards.

Here is the problem i've been trying to work out.
what happens when you get hit with a kill shot? obviously your dead, but then what?
Usually the player would leave the field and he would be out.
In this case we can't do that because our field is huge #1 and #2 it could take hours before the flag is captured and the player could return, and #3 our team will be stretched far and wide using radio comm's and all so we wont always know who is been hit and who is out.

I had some solutions,
the dead player could wait 5 minutes in the spot he was killed, then return to base so he could come back in play. (problem with that is an opposing player could be watching the dead player return to base then our cover is blown.)

A better solution would be to set up a safe zone where all dead players go and wait for a period of time before returning to their base. (still run the risk of an opposing player watching someone return to their base)

I also thought of designating certain players as medics.

Another problem, after A flag has been captured, how is it returned to the base without the other team knowing where the base is?

maybe a solution for that would be the team that scored returns the flag to the safe zone for the other team to pick up.

any ideas?

Thank you smithy for the suggestion. Although your suggestion is logical for basic CTF, In my scenario however,it does not help as the enemy cannot have knowledge of the location of my base.

Bases will be static. Once a location has been determined they will not be moved.

Any other suggestions?

P.S. I now realize this post should be in the tourney talk section, and for that I apologize to the moderator.

well then if there static.. looks like they have to find them.. and if that means following dead box players back to the base... maybe the dead box plaayers should take long routes or lead them to his buddys..

The medics will help.

Have the dead walk to a safe zone (one zone or each team has their own safe area. Make the location of your save zone unknown to the other team, and vice versa? ). Wait 15 minutes then reinsert.
It should be up to the players not give away the location of their base when reinserting. Take a detour or something.

Or, mark out an area as a field hospital or something, somewhere as not to give away your base. Have them reinsert there and if they choose so, can go to the main base or join up with another squad. Stash some ammo at the hospital too so guys can reload before getting back into the fray.

But I think finding the location of the other team's base is top priority. So both teams would more then likely send a recon group out and both teams will know the location of each others base fairly early on.
