I wear an old sweat shirt and quad pants, my friends dont make fun of me because they know i could light them up with a $50 walmart gun. I dont think there really is any "trends" in paintball. If you have the $$ to get cool cloths, good for you, but i would MUCH rather put the $$ into a marker, or hop ups.

Like Matrix said the pros wear what their sponsors tell them to wear, and so new players see a game on TV or something and think "hey I wanna look like a pro!" so they go out and buy the pants and jerseys with the big company logo on it.

If you want to spend money on overpriced clothing so you can run around with a logo on your ass, fine by me. (clothing designs that aren't even new, by the way, just have paintball companies producing them. Baseball slideshorts can be bought cheaper then paintball pants and work a hell of a lot better.)

How is it anyones loss, aside someone giving up a sponsorship over it, to not wear this stuff?

Ha. That's great. When i go to my local field, i see alot of kids my age (i'm 14) who think the same way. I wear windbreakers and an undershirt, i play better than them, and they have 100's of dollars worth of clothes on. It doesn't matter at all what you wear, it's all about how you play.

function before style, i have full speedball gear but i wouldnt care if none of it matched id still wear it for its protection first, it just so happened that someone here was selling a matched set for $50 and it was in blue so i jumped on it.

i dont think there is a "style" yet, i mean we dont see denem style pants yet, even sandanas are functional, name me a piece of equipment that serves no function out on the field but to be stylish.

that's the point of mil-sim markers, methinks. milsim gear is very purposeful, there's pockets everywhere !

As long as your comfortable it dosnt matter what you wear!
this is the reason why i only wear some old dirty tighty whities when i go P-balling(I never wash them so i can keep the desert cammo affect)
and i also wear a mask... this way im very light and fast

you know i kinda agree with buff on that point, the mil-sim is a style of play and a lot of the equipment is only for the look
