So, my friend and I own a quarry. It is about 2 acres and a stone box. So all the vids of people sticking posts in the ground doesnt work. we even tried saw horses, holdin up ply wood, and it didn't work. what bunkers are there that arent in the ground? and how could we prop up sheets of iron or something?
problem with quarrys is that they tend to have rocks in them. hence, quarry. this is a hazard. even if you think youre tough so you wont cry and whatnot when you fall, you could damage your gear. try against this, like moving every rock out of your field of play.
you can always figure a way to use pallets. try leaning against other things. sheet metal gets annoying because it vibrates wildly when hit and is very loud. hits a switch if you know what i mean.
use barrels. they work wonders.
inflatables are expensive. really. not recommended for the occasional rec-baller. especially a improv-er.

well, yeah i have tried pallets. and i can't move the rocks, because its all clear, except the whole floor is a rock lol. but where should i get barrels?
well i meant like small boulders kinda rocks. the pallets should be nailed to some 2x4s or any wood in such a way to angle them like a kinda hut that you builg against a tree. a free-stander.
barrels are ALWAYS given away for free. all the time. check your local craigslist, classifieds, and whatever. the free listings are THE BOMB DIGGITY for homemade fields.

Try haybails. They are really cheap, most large plant nurserys sell them and they dont need any support. If you can get your hands on some old tires from a automotive shop those work well too.
try the industrial wire spools. they are the large ones that can stand about 6 feet high. even actual fields use them.

Use what you have to make bunkers, Try fox holes if you feel like digging. A trench line (or low stone walls) with stone bunkers would be cool too, just add a lot of turns so you can't fire straight down it and get everyone in there. For a bunker, use a pile of rocks and some logs. Make it look like a battle field. Spend the money you would waste on an inflatable bunker that would probably last a year or two on a good marker. Just build your bunkers. To prop up your steel plates, weld steel angles, long leg vertical, to act as feet. 1/3 of the height of your plate in length on both sides. A corner bracket would be a good idea too to add stability.
