Shooting fast in the woods
This also goes to the Tippmann for woods Spyder for speedball argument..
If I have a DM4, I can shoot 18bps in the woods if I need to. But guess what, theres nothing stopping me from shooting 3-4 bps. And bps isn't a term for the woods becuase there isn't a constant stream of paint flying everywhere like in speedball.
A fast gun is perfectly fine for the woods. It can help you get out of many bad situations. Its there if you need it, but you don't HAVE to walk the trigger. Just shoot it with one finger and you won't waste paint.
I'm just sick of the whole "tourney guns aren't for woods" type of attitude. Just beucase you can't afford one, doesn't mean its not suited for the type of gameplay you like. We are all jealous of someone else.

Nice post Alpha. I was palying in these clay pits in my neighborhood yesterday and my cocker is the only electronic gun out there. It does help me get out of situations where a slower gun may not help. For example, one of the guys we were playing with ran behind me as I was hiding in some long grass, I knew the general area of where he was but not exactly where he was, but I knew he could see me, so I throw a load of paint over there and manage to hit him, even though I couldnt see him. If I had been using my mech Spyder, I would have had to wait until he started shooting to be able to tell exactly where he was.
Tourney guns aren't for woods play is crap.... crap crap crap.

tourney markers in woods makes for lots of fun.

^^^hahha, not if its black or green.. but yeah, the only problem of a gun not fitting in a category would be something like a tippman with a flatline on a speedball course.

I have friends that would whoop your ass with their flatliens on a speedball course.
No gun is more accurate then any other, its the paint to barrel match. Everythign else is just speed and efficiency.
The size of a 98c would make playing speedball hard, but it can be done.

Hell, I dont go above 5 BPS bursts of two or three rounds in speedball, let alone woods. I dont see how putting out 200 balls in one mad minute is useful in any way. I try not to get myself into situations where it would be. I dont see the need for people to continually fire throughout the whole game. I just think it's stupid. It's gotten me out quite a few times, because you literally have nowhere to go with two streams closing in on you, but I think it's like having a line pointing to where you are, espically in the woods. Fire two quick rounds, and the guy might catch them in mid flight. Fire 15 BPS for more than half a second, and in the woods, chances are you are simply pointing yourself out.

my friend plays with an impulse and owns me in woodsball...however he hits a lot of thorns and twigs and sprays the area with paint before he hits his target (which is a good distraction for noobs)

In my opinion, you can use any marker in any type of paintball. No one's stopping you. Just use it well.

I've seen many people play with Timmys, DM4s, Angels, Shockers, ect in the woods. Doesn't matter to me. Also, something else affects accuracy, Alpha. Consistency.

I have a little ole Piranha I've done some work to, and the one time I've played woodsball, I had the best day playing of my life. Now I know that's 100% not a DM4, but it does its job. As for using tourney guns in the woods, I wouldn't because theres so many different things in the woods that could mess yur gun up, dirt, mud, water, thjings that aren't in speedball. I'm not gonna pay 1400 for a gun and have it get all f'd because of woodsball.

I don’t see the point because shooting fast in woods ball isn’t going to help you. Quick burst with accuracy will.
(Your spelling is atrocious, I took the liberty of editing it for you)

Actually, I believe the main argument for High-ends having no place in the woods is best summed up in price. Most of the time in woodsball you’re shooting at a slow bps, very rarely do you need a higher bps. If you get into a situation where you need to lay that much paint down on one guy, chances are you do not have a clear shot and you’re just spraying to get a piece of his knee or something. If that be the case, then maybe you should brush up on your skills as a baller. Woodsball isn’t about throwing as much paint as possible at the other guy. Tactics prevail, not spray and pray.
What it comes down to is this. Timmy = $1000+ vs. Tippmann = $200. Both are going to get the job done at 3-4 bps. One just costs insanely more then the other. It’s your choice though. For weekend woods guys, a tippmann will do you just fine.
