about flag pulling

where are the flags placed and I don't know I just don't get it

im not sure where there placed, but they are pulled when paint hits you and breaks and leaves a mark bigger then a quarter. Your flag is pulled thus meaning you are out. Its to prevent people from sneaking back in i guess.

They can be in 2 places (differing from league and what-not). Their is either 1 flag in the middle 50 in which you have to get it and bring it to the oppenents starting point. The other placement of the flags is on the oppenets starting point in which you have to bring it back to your starting point. What Soljah reffered to as armbands which some tourney leauges make you wear. When a reff pulls the armband off you, you are out. No questions asked. I hope I helped you out.

several flag styles in paintball are used.
Center flag is the most populare which simply involves a flag or something you can physically take. In dead box flagging you are taking your flag to the opposing teams dead box or place where the other team started. this is used alot. also is taking the flag and returning to your break box or where you started.

Some times in woods play there are multiple flags that if you get them all you win.
or you take your flag to there base...or you play capture the flag where you both have flags and protect them trying to bring theres to your base.

Basically there are generally 2 flags. One at your base, and one at the other teams base. It is your job to 1) eliminate all the other players so you can waltz in and get the flag, or 2) you sneak into thier area and get the flag.

The other derivation is called "center flag". In that scheme there is only one flag and it is placed in the center of the arena. The same 2 points as above apply except here you are trying to get the flag back to your base.

Now -- To confuse you only slightly more.. the terms "pull" and "hang" are not interchangeable. In some scoring schemes you get points for both pulling the flag (getting it from the other teams side or from the center) and then also get points for hanging the flag at your base.

Unless it's center flag, you get the other team out then get the flag.

If you get shot while running the flag back, you are eliminated, the flag gets dropped where you are, and one of your teammates must get the flag. That is why there are points for a pull (you got the flag) and a hang. Its really a 2 part evolution. THe game is over once you hang the flag. Generally this is not an issue as the primary tactic is to eliminate all the other players first, and then go for the flag.

Ok here is what it is @ the tourneys i go to:

The is a flag under the X in the middle of the field. You take the flag and press up field so that you hang it on their dead box. Usually we just shoot out the other team and then take the flag and hang it, much easier, and you dont have to remember who has the flag. I'm not the captain so i wasnt there in the captains meeting when they explained that stuff but i think you either drop it or hang it on the bunker u were @.

BTW if you guys were wonder it was a 3-man 1/2 Air 1/2 Hyperball field.
We took 4th after holding 1st till the finals...

my field plays a lil different sometime for fun, this is usually when pros and rec play. The flag is on one side of the field on soemthing usually a cone. It is kinda in the open but closer to one side. When you get it you have to hang it on a bike in the dead center of the field. It is a lil diff cause you ahve to either press and take em all out and place the flag, or you jsut do a comacazy, usually the first who runs out of paint, usually me. But when we get shot the flag goes back to the center. It sometimes ends in a dead match cause no one can get the flag and no one can get anyone out.
