at college we are doing visual basic

and its boring

so I thought, hmm... idea, so I made a program that converts Mph into FPS(feet per second)

im thinkin of makin it do FPS into MPH and stuff

would anyone actually find this useful lol? 0?

lol medic has posted all the formula's before... its kinda basic math but yeah I'm sure some people would love to figure out just how hard they are hitting something.... I PERSONALLY want to figure out pounds per square inch pressure wise when a ball hits you from say 20 feet away. I know you would have to use a few equations say the guns shooting at 275 for this exercise. lol I'm just having fun I thought of this one night over a cigarette wanted to see if it is close to a human punch, punch has more area...

but i suck at maths and it took me ages to get the formula for mph -> fps right lol >_<

i think an average 280fps paintball goes about 100mph...but dont quote me on it

omfg... amazing, i never really thought that a paintball goes that fast, if a paintball was a tad bit bigger killing people with them wouldn't be a problem

Now, why would a paintball kill someone easier if it were a "tad" bigger? You act as if hitting someone with a regular paintball is cutting it close to killing them. Not much more to say except that that was a stupid remark.

if a paintball was 2x-3x bigger and it hit in the chest, it would knock force your heat to skip a beat or two, then there is the chance that your heart doesnt regain its pattern and you have a hear attack pretty much.

any bigger and the paintball would spread all of its force over a bigger area=doesnt hurt as bad. a smaller paintball would have all its power in a smaller area=hurts more. but it still isnt fast enough to kill you, depending on where you get hit. think about arrows. most bows shoot 300fps and the only reason they pierce is because they are sharp and small. a paintball is designed to break on impact so it wont actually go through skin

Yeah dude whoever said the thing about the heart beat is only half right. That can only happen on a certain part of the beat and has to hit with the right force rigth time. Some kid got killed by a baseball. Yeah the forula isn't that hard for fps-mph. feet-miles s-hour. You just have to do it and it isn't that hard. I can give a ballpark in my head

thats because a baseball doesnt break. a paintball breaks when it hits your skin or something hard. the reason a baseball is could kill you is because it hits you and bounces off so is in contact with you longer

The truth is, unless you have a freak accident or if you arent following safety rules, a paintball wont kill you. End of story

dude the kid only died by a 30 mph ball was when it hit. There is liek 1 in a billion chances or somethign like that. yeah 2 lil kids where just tossign a bball.

yeah the lady was at her sons party liek 300 yards away or something. he had taken it apart and was a dumb ass and the valve came off and bang dead.

The only reason a paintball doesn't hurt that much is due to its momentum. The ball breaks when it hits you, losing all its force. Hell, a racket ball that is hit hard has more momentum than a .22.
