Video Tapin

Well sunday im goin speedballin at my local air field and i have only 1000 paint bieng it i have a scenario im goin to next week so i have 0 money.

well durin the games since theres gonna be enough refs i was thinkin of video tapin the games not from the side lines but like in the game layin on the ground and blasted w/ paint.

Can you guys give me any tips on gettin some good footage and not gettin my cam corder destroyed by paint.

My freinds got shot in the lens once and it still worked so i think mine can take some damage but dont really wanna break it bieng it aint mine. its about the size of o id say a football thats just a guees its smaller than hat though.

I was thinkin of wrappin a towel around it or soemtun. and i dont feel like makin a plexiglass box to put it in.

do you have netted areas? if so, just tape it from on the outside of the nets.

just buy a underwater case for it. a shell. they work pretty good. I don't know about a paintball hitting it though. The shell might crack but ur camera would be pretty safe.

one time we filmed a water fight using the shells and they work great.
also get a shield, like a garbage can lid, so ur hand or sumthing doesn't get hit and u drop the camera. i just suggest being very careful.

wear a bright colored shirt so everyone will know that you're filming and that you will kick their ass if they shoot your camera.

kind of like what a ref wears.

I thinks Silent_Kill's idea is pretty good, wear like a newon blue shirt something that a ref wears, and tell the people that you will be playing with you are going to videotape and try not to hit the camera etc. etc.

get a clear lense cap to protect the lense from splatter.
im not sure if you can get these for cancorders but i know thats how most people take pictures on fields...that way only a dirrect hit take your camera out(also look into buying/making some kind of padding to put around the exterior if you are serious about it).

and of course teklll everyone what your doing, dont hide in bunkers, stay near the tape, and wear all one bright color.

Maybe, if the camera is small enough, you could cut the top off a milk jug, or two liter soda, cut a hole in the bottom for the lens to "peak" out, and cover the big opening in the back with a bag and some duct tape, then try and find the silver lens cover like Bob said.

^^^^wow....i wouldn't resort to that unless i had 0 money but it would be good for anyone who is broke....

silent kill is mostly right....i have taken pictures out on my field during play from time to time....all i have to do is

1. Wear a bright shirt....white/blue/pink will do the job
2. Tell everyone the general area where you will be....
3. when moving from place to place, move SLOWLY so as not to be confused with players.
4. Make sure EVERYONE can see most of your body...this is probably the hardest part.
