I have a right to wear one in honor of My grandpa I wear it in respect for his survice to the army. I wear his old patches on my camo jacket to show my respect. He fought in the Vietnam war don't tell me I have no right to wear one and it's not a disgrace its honor get it right boys.

what if you cant earn it or wont get the opportunity to earn one. I have a heart murmur, so i can never join the marines or the army. I have a sharpshooter medal that i bought on cheapasdirt. My opinion is, if you have respect for it fine go ahead.

It's not a big deal really. I mean, my camo came off ebay, i didn't throw the patches on there, they were used and therefor they're going to be on there. Also if you rip them off they tend to look horrible, sometimes destroying the jacket.
It's not like they're claiming to be anyone, just a bunch of recballers having fun. Leave 'em alone. Paintball is a brotherhood just as the military is. If they're not talking crap and making stuff up, leave 'em be.

yup hes right. Its the same as dressing up for halloween. Most people want to look different and be an individual. If you want to be a "everyone has to be appropraitely uniformed nazi" than fine, good luck having friends at fields though.

Okay. We've all seen 'em. Mostly in woodsball. People wearing patches and insignia on their BDU's. Stuff like Ranger Tabs or 101st Airborne Patches. I think that you have no right to wear them unless you've earned them. Some people just don't apprecciate that soldiers work hard to earn their patches. And now we have people running around calling themselves an Airborne Ranger. I have a problem with that. What do you think?
I f someone wore a beret I would be really p*ssed off as it took me (well not just me; the whole corp ) 36 weeks to earn just the standard beret!
Someone wearing the patches proberly wouldnt annoy me, someone pretanding to be part of that unit proberly would. You hear about the trainning and pain that soldiers go through and people dont really comprehend how hard it is untill they actually doing it!
yeah, if you say that your in the army or something and that your part of that usit but your not, thats stupid and you should get beaten for 36 days strait by midgets.
but i wear mine representing my dads friend whose serving right now(we dont know where) in the First infantry. i told him about it(before i put it on) and he thought it was kinda cool, so i went with it

/\ that leads right back to the whole "dressing up for halloween" and not being able to join any armed forces comment i made earlier. Sides most people, cept for the idiots are trying, they just wear them to make themselves different. As long as they dont claim anything, who cares.

But yeah, if your not in the military, don't wear the uniform. DO NOT walk the walk.
I was in the military so I deserver to "walk the walk".
Personally NOBODY I know in the military gives a rats ass if sombody goes 'balling with insignia on their "uniform". As was stated earlier MEDALS are one thing but 'patches' are totally different (which is why you can buy patches for any unit from the DoD on base but you can only request replacements for medals that you have EARNED).

if you are a paintballer from Satan's Army put this in your sig.
I wouldnt wear it simply because i think it makes you look stupid.
You arent a Marine, You arent in the Navy,You Arent in the Air Force.
Stop trying.
Again, they aren't trying, they're using what they have available dude. Surplus camo comes with patches and junk on it. Unless you want to go out in walmart camo which is pure crap, you kind of have to use milsurp since it's cheaper then busting out $35 a pop for pants, then a jacket.
No one is trying to be military wanna be's!!! I repeat, NO ONE is trying to be military wanna be's. Get off our case, some of us aren't living off mamma and daddy's wallet, we gotta buy everything ourselves, why not get a deal on top quality stuff. Keep your head in the game. This is a sport, treat it as such, this isn't a bunch of geeks playing D&D pretending to be something they're not.

Good point, i should have said something about how i wasnt refering to people who do it just for fun, or maybe it came on the uniform, or other harmless reasons.
I hate the badass's who go out there and talk about it and stuff, or even lie about it. And beleive me there are people who do it. I dislike the guys who act all tough because they have some patch that means nothing to mose people.
I am trying to build up a couple of different squads under one team name.
The different squad names are:
Alpha
Bravo
Delta
Fenix
Viper
They will be used in different scenario paintball games. On the military BDU, on one side I would have the team logo and on the other I would have the squad logo on it with their name under it. On our team jackets the same setup is on the front, but on the back is a large American flag with the phrase, "Support & Pray For Our Troops"
First of all, I am not and probably will not be in the armed forces.
My father's father and his brothers were all in WWII and a few were in Vietnam and Korea. I am proud of what they did and I will never forget their sacrifices.
My brother had close friends who were in Desert Storm and they lost their lives. We will never forget their sacrifices made either.
Knowing these things I wish you to make a descision on the question I asked earlier.
some scenarios havem 2 frankly i dont pay attention.
my freinds step dad who is currently in the air force has a boat load of camo jackets w/ patches and my freind wears them to go ballin in well not all of them of course.
I before E except after C.
I have my dad's old Air Force uniform, and I have never worn it to go ballin, but I have worn it at Halloween.
well hey its true what ever way u look at it is what ur gonna think. like my jersy/camo gear came with us flags on them (part of design)(made in usa, im in canada) and i sad well i dont mind and i see your pint tho with how people could get offended by it but my personal oppion is that if you like to do it good for you if you dont like it well hell thats ok too but i think that if you dont like it dont go around sayin hey get that patch off your gear its disrespectful cuz thats just a disrespect to that person so if you have that problem thats ok but keep it to your self and dont go and jump on some one elses back. I truly think that every one should "earn" one of their own patches (like mone from candas largest game(operation halo2 at wasega beach))
Anyway, wanted to share my opinion. I am understanding both sides of this and I can see why people would or would not be offended. Really it's a personal choice, as far as the legality of it goes I believe as long as you are not actually trying to truly impersonate a military or government official you should be fine. However when someone said it's dis-respectful to wear a flag (I am talking of course about old glory), I disagree. As long as the flag is in the standard position (not the military's backwards manner) it is respectful. In fact I have one on just that way, not in any way trying to impersonate anyone.
