Okay. We've all seen 'em. Mostly in woodsball. People wearing patches and insignia on their BDU's. Stuff like Ranger Tabs or 101st Airborne Patches. I think that you have no right to wear them unless you've earned them. Some people just don't apprecciate that soldiers work hard to earn their patches. And now we have people running around calling themselves an Airborne Ranger. I have a problem with that. What do you think?
For Halloween have you ever dressed up as any army unit? What do you think of that how people do it. Really I don’t care if they do it or not some solders may thing it disrespectful while others think its an honor that people want to mimic or copy them.
yea, its all how you look at it. if i were a soldier, id feel kinda proud that someone wanted to be like me
but you also have to remember, a lot of these guys prolly didn't even intentionally add the patches- they came with the gear. I know that when i started in woodsball 3 years ago, my army shirt, which came from an army & navy store, was already used by a soldier and loaded with patches
I know alot of war re-enactors(sp) and they accociate with veterans and millitary all the time. No soldier cares that your imitating a unit, however hard it may be to earn a real spot. It's the medals and citations that tend to bug them. alot of re-enactors are ex-millitary/police and the medals they wear were earned(great stories behind them too), but there's still those who participate just to cary a gun and fire off blanks at people all day, who give themselves medals for great things they did during a reenactment. That's the only time i've seen that a soldier would ask them to take it off.

i have a "Big Red One" patch, from the first infantry, on my shoulder. I do it to show my respect for that group. I got it from my dads friend who fought with them in the first gulf war(it wasn't his patch, just a replacement one they sold on the base) I told him that i was wearing it for paintball, and he thought it was cool.

I would not wear stuff like that, simply because I did not earn it.I am the same guy though who has a prob about the Army letting everyone wear the much coveted beret.
If its all you had, you would wear it. I dont think its really disrespectful. To me if somebody wore that it would tell me they suport me. Think of it this way:
Professional football teams have jerseys. Random people where their jerseys all the time and nobody compains. Did those people earn their jerseys? No, but them wearing those peoples jerseys is saying they support them and think they are important.
Oh, come on. Where's the harm in dress'n up like a soldier for paintball, eh? As long as it's not 100% accurate (I read it's illegal) and it's not to "pose" as a soldier, I see no problem with it.
What i would like is to see some paintball related patches, well more of them since ive seen a few. A couple scenario ballers came to my local feild one day and had a few scenario patches from waynes world (hopefully ill get some too someday)

I tend to agree with you, however I also think that "imitation is the highest form of flattery." Not much you can do about it.
Yea but 35 year old guys running around telling stories of Kosovo and how they were a sapper is really pissing. I'm hesitant to get a flag and throw it on my shoulder becuase its usually a sign of people fighting in our military.
some teams have patches, i know i have some from tactical markers. The Mob was thinking about making some, but since theres like 7 of us, and you usually get them in bundles of like 100

I tihnk they should make patches in the shape of military and patches, but like have them be paintball patches, like if you just glance at them they look military, but if you oook close you can see paintball stuff on them.
some scenarios havem 2 frankly i dont pay attention.
my freinds step dad who is currently in the air force has a boat load of camo jackets w/ patches and my freind wears them to go ballin in well not all of them of course.

Now that's a good idea, military-style paintball patches.
When I join the corps, I'd like to continue my persuit and growth of the paintball sport.. I'd like to try and get people from my unit togethor, and ball. So maybe if we started a team, we'd wear camo. Hell, wouldn't it be kinda cool if there was a bunch of marines showing up to a tourney in full cammy and web gear with pods on em?And all shooting high ends too.. That could be cool.
But yeah, if your not in the military, don't wear the uniform. DO NOT walk the walk.
alpha u should get ghillie/jersey thingys and like have them in diff colors to match the bunkers.
(he just disappeard on a airball field is wat the opposition would say.

I know that when I got out of the military, I took all of my uniforms, those that I hadn't already given to guys in my unit, and gave them to goodwill. I remeber laughing my head off when some kid came to the field wearing one of my BDU tops. Heck....my name patch was still on it.
