Easy on the kid...
You know what this sounds like to me? A prime example of why you should be shooting a phantom.
Not the part about the kid being scared, because the answer to that is obvious and has already been covered... I'm talking about your friend tagging you multiple times while you're trying to hit him with your 15 bps marker. You blame it on your teammates, but what's the real issue here? You go to a woods field and play like you're in a speedball game. Sure you might win once in a while, but you're playing a different game than everyone else out there. You may prefer speedball, many players do. However, "When in Rome..."
Don't think I'm getting down on speedball or 15+ bps markers. It's just not my style. I also own a 'mag (granted it's from 1994) and I've played tournament speedball many times... it's just not what I like. (Plus it's expensive) I LIKE 30+ minute games where I might fire 5 shots total. I like being able to win without ever firing. And when people show up in the woods and rip off balls at everything that moves, I tell them the same thing I'm saying here: Don't bring a dragster to an autocross race and expect to have a great time.
Lastly, don't think I'm trying to put you down for your story. I think we can all learn from this. Not everybody wants to dodge a hail of paint to grab a flag. And unless you're in a scenario game and you have 'rank' or are playing on an organized team, don't tell people to do things on the field. It's pretty much never going to happen. Fact of life; sorry.

hey man, as soon as i get the money i will have a phantom. Also, i cant shoot my marker past 14 bps lol . Phantoms are awesome and im not relaly trying to blame it on my teammates. I must also admit that my friend( who is older) is better than me. He doesnt just shoot a phantom also. He uses it because the paint there is like 90 bux a case. In tourneys he uses his black magic or his 05 angel speed.

Ha, ha... Good Point
$90 a case, eh? That had better be some amazing paint! I remember when Nelson used to be $90 a case and it was worth it. Oh, and you used to get 2500 in a case...
Playing pump is a great way to save on your paint cost if you're interested in doing so. You've probably heard this before, but if you get a Phantom, get the detent ring set. It'll keep your balls from rolling out of your barrel. You know, in case you ever play at fields where they have small balls.
Just out of curiosity, where do you usually play? I mostly frequent EMR but have been known to show up to other fields in the PA/NJ/DE area. I'd be interested to know about this Phantom-crazed field of yours. Aside from the $90 paint, it sounds like a decent place. edit: Checked your profile and you're a west-coaster. I heard they like thier pumps more out there. Next time I take a trip out there (which I do to see friends/family every so often), I'll have to bring my marker and look up some pump fields. Sorry about the obvious question.

its pmi premium. The entry fee is 5 bux, so they make their money off paint. The field is Called Hit and Run, it is near Portland, Oregon. Nice staff and people, but the 2 times i was there there was not many ppl. ok fields, but its a lot of fun.
Phantoms amaze me. As soon as i get enough money i will get one. My other friend (lives near me) is ordering his phantom in a few weeks. We hope to get pump goin down here a bit (bay area).

Its understandable that he didn't run out there and grab it.... Its just hard for me to see why he didn't because I have been playing since I was 8 or 9, and I was the one that they ran forward as the rabbit.... The first time i played was CTF.... I ran forward to capture the flag (I loved it from then on) i got shot, but still, my first time i didnt cower.... I am still a newb, i will admit that (a newb that needs a new gun b/c his cops to do damned much b/c i fire to damned fast.... Actaully an electronic hopper... but it gives me a reason to buy a better one) Hell, I go insane when I play.... but that is a different story for a different time.
Ya, he is a noob, and its understandable that he didn't run and grab it, but like I said when I first played I wasn't a coward, and most of the people that are noobs i play with. aren't....

the only time I was scared or maybe a better word is nervous was the first time I ever played. You can't blame him though. Nerves have alot to do with things liek that. So he lost his nerve. So what? it happens to the best of us. Like many have said.... We were all noobs at one time and hell I'll always consider myself a noob. Why? Because I learn something new all the time and learning and playing are what make you a good baller not just being fearless. Anyone can be fearless, and that sure the hell doesn't or wouldn't make them a good baller.
