Woodsball
Group size = 10 to 25
Playing for about 2 years.
Guys, we've been showing up every weekend or so to play the same old game. We play a game with no name to it, that is basically search and eliminate. One group hides in the woods and the other comes in to get them. The only other thing we ever play would be capture the flag.
What good scenario game formats are there that make for an interesting day of paintball?
Terminator is cool it is basicly a free for all but you pick a person to be the terminator and he cant get out at all and he trys to kill off all of the other players so you use him to help you but he can also get you out. And at the same time everyone is shooting at eachother. Picking the terminator might be hard because most likely he will get shot alot.

we play a game called president, its pretty fun. you have one president and he picks three bodyguards the president dont get a gun but can take 6 body shots or one head shot
also we play a game called alien, and that is were 1 person gets screwed. one person is the alien and everyone else is a hunter. the hunters try to kill the alien, but the alien can take 10 body shots or 3 head shots. but if the alien shoots you, you announce it, the game stops and you go near him and your an alien too.

I don't think I'm going to be able to keep a straight face when we try the game that doe recommends.....one ball at a time, civil war style?.....nothing like seeing the man next to you take one right in the mask. You all might want to check out the link toXic attached. There are several great ideas there in case you're ever looking for a new scenario.
We use to play a game called revolutionary war, two teams about 30-40 yards apart would face each other and take turns shooting at each other. You could only shoot one per turn. After your turn you would take a step forward. Winner was the team with the most people left.

I prefer Draw as opposed to civil war. You get 20 yards apart and then "draw". You can shoot as much as you want and move anywhere you want. Its fun getting shot up

Yep, this game is awesome, we play it. The adreneline is so high cause you cant move when they are shooting and you can hear the balls whiz by your head.
The latest Action Pursuit Games has a great article in it titled Arizona Desert Paintball. This article has a great idea for a scenerio. Both teams start out at the same point. When the game starts they walk in opposite directions, around a "50 feet high and 1,000 feet long" ridge. Both teams will eventually meet at one point. The objectie is to get past your opposing team, via eliminations and other tactics, and get back to the starting point, to gain points. They called the game 'Circumnavigate the Ridge.'

its kinda of a dumb idea but i got one 4 ya
best way to go is a squad game.
4 teams start in 4 corners and just have at it.
a lot of communication is involved and it also pitts all sides aggainst eachother.
it was fun when i played it and i got to know a few people better.
FUN GAME
Civil War: Each player gets about twenty balls and no hopper to them. Both teams line up side by side, teams are facing each other. They slowly start to walk towards each other each team firing in sequence loading thier guns by hand. Last man/team standing wins.
Downed Pilot (one of my personal favorites): One man goes into the woods/play area and hides him/her self as good as possible. One team is designated as hunters, other team in designated as the rescue team. The rescue team gets a 5 minute head start into the woods, the hunters follow after. The downed pilot cannot move unless the rescue team/player is with him. The object is for the rescue team to remove the downed pilot from the warzone. If the pilot is killed or the team is eliminated the rescue team loses. The hunters win by eliminating the pilot or the entire rescue team.
Find the Intel: Get someone who is not playing to go and hide a box or something in the play field. Put one team at each end of the feild and say go. The first team to find the "intel" and get it out of the feild wins.
Fort Defense(another personal favorite): Place one team in a well constructed bunker. Place another team far away. Rush the bunker. First team that is completely kill loses. If you take the fortress. You win.
There are many more but I am lazy today.

In order to play this game you need a trail or path to play on. The game starts out where there is one president and as many body guards as you choose, and there are 1 or 2 assassins that try to kill the president. The object for the president and his body guards is to get to a certain extraction point on the trail. If the president makes it to the extraction point, then he wins, but if the president gets shot (one time) they lose. The assassin can get hit 2 times, the guards can only get shot once. Its very scary being the president or body guard when your on the trail, because you never know where the assassin is, and you can only stay on the path.
My friends and I like to play with a "Bomb" (a water bottle 1/4 full).
Attack 'n defend - Attackers have to throw (or place) the bomb inside the opposing teams' base. You could also use a flag about 20' from the base, if the attackers get that flag they can trade it for a second bomb.
Or both teams get a bomb and have to bomb a building/structure/opposing teams' start location. Sometimes we play with respawning every 5 or so mins, unless the teams "hospital" has been destroyed VIA bomb.
Or just give each team one medic.
Use a little bit of food coloring to dye the water in the water bottles, make 5 red and 5 blue..
Hearing you guys talk about Civil War where you're being shot at like that out in the open makes me think of one thing immediately - a cup!
Put your hand in front of your croch and the gun behind you (so it doesnt break on the gun).

FUN GAME
At our field we have a really fun scenario based on Halo. 18 different reinsertion points and each person has a card to where they reinsert when they die. They reinsert at a different location each time just like in real Halo. Its hard to keep your team together. The objective is to hold the flag for the longest amount of time. Its a blast cause there is like 6 teams trying to get the flag.
some friends and I went out to my buddies land outside of austin this past weekend and did a variation on that civil war game. Everybody had to load paintballs one at a time, except the one team was behind the fence with guns drawn. The other team had to march across the field in an attack. We did it just like that old civil war movie "Glory" (awesome movie by the way!) and it was pretty intense. The other team had my one friend as the commander who was calling out the shots. We forced ourselves to try and stay together as a group and keep marching even when you could hear him yelling "Fire!" and we'd get pummeled by another wave of paintballs. Finally, our commander called out the full charge, but as soon as we started running we were already too close and got backed down. Then we switched sides. All in all, a pretty fun game. I can't believe those guys in the Civil war would fight like that! How stupid!

That sounds like the best idea I have read in a long time. Lots of strategy involved. Go for the hospital first? Storm the building first? Go for the second bomb? Great game. I will have to try that one tomorrow.
