The game is Axis (Germans & Vichy French) vs. Allies (Americans, Commonwealth, and Free French). Each side is broken up into major units by the event producers, then each of the big units is further broken down by the commander of that unit.

For example, the 4th Infantry Division is one of the units "created" by the event staff. It is then broken down into regiments and companies by its commander. My unit, the 502 MPs, are part of the 2nd Armored Group, which also includes the 8th Air Force, the 899th Tank Destroyers, and a bunch of others.

Here is a link to last years Allied organization chart. Here is one for the 2nd Armored, you can click on the 502 link on that page to see how I will organize.

If you come with a team, there is every chance to keep your team together. Just contact the commander of the unit you wish to join.

For more information see the recruiting depot thread on the D-Day forum.

Yes as Superdad said, the core units are determined by the game producers and further broken down by the commanding officers. We would love to have you in the 4th ID. If you want to bring a large group that's great too. I have several leadership positions still open. Contact me for more info if you like.

And what is this? Underhanded attempts to steal my potential recruits, I'm contacting the authorities...oh wait...wonder if Ackiliez agrees with this type of behavior?

MA--Whichever unit you join will be loads of fun and a time not soon forgotten.

I know Rufu$, I know. I was gonna preface all that with "Not to hi-jack your thread but..." but it seemed kinda lame at the time. You know I love the 4th.

M_agent, I agree with Rufu$. Come be a part of the greatest paintball event on earth. You'll love it. And if you take the time to do a little research into the actual invasion of Normandy in WWII, you will have helped fulfill the vision of the event promoter who built this event as a tribute to all the men who fought in that epic battle including his grandfather.

Yes they are the names of actual units that fought on Normandy beach and the inland areas.

My first year, I had 3 or 4 buddies lined up to go with me. They all backed out the day before we were to leave. I made the 7 hour trip alone, and met some of the greatest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Some of the people I met, although I will only see them once a year at D-day, I can call some of my greatest friends. You will not meet a stranger at D-day, Allied or German. If you can find some buddies, great by all means get 'em signed up. If not, don't let that be the only reason you don't go.

Six months until D-Day. Really, that's not very long. The longer you wait to sign up, the more you miss out on. Don't delay any longer sign up and join the 4th ID today.

Six months, wow!
D-Day 07 is half a year gone and D-Day 08 is half a year here!
It time to stop looking in the past and start looking in the future! It time to start our planning. Getting to know our fellow players. And start a check list.
Things I need to do:

1. Register with 4th ID
2. Start saving money for paint, travel, and food.
3. Get on 4th ID web page often and check out the action.

I wish I could go to D-Day, but living in Western Canada makes things difficult. But good luck anyhow

can you guys give me a ballpark figure of how much you spend total on this trip? I'm seriously considering it and need to know if I can afford it.

Registration is $70, this includes the big game plus all mini scenarios through out the week. Camping for the entire week is $5. Paint is $65 or $75 a case depending on type used. Food is about $5 a meal, but Wal-Mart is only 30 minutes away, and we will be cooking a lot. Plus gas. Cheapest big game you'll find for what you get.

Need anything else?
