Campgrounds

My nephew suggested we stay in a state park about 20 minutes away where they have RV hook ups ect. I have never been before, but I think it would much more convenient to be on location. Close to the action. We can use generators for AC from 10pm to 8am. Drink bottled water.
Any thoughts on staying in the campgrounds vs. state park with rv hookups?

I've been told to bring at least $600 even if I don't plan on buying anything. I bet a lot of peopel will be at the state park as well, I'd say go for that. it's cheap to stay there and the "free" power is better than paying $4+ for gas to run a generator.

Bring food and a cooler and be prepared to buy tons of ice.

I would assume you would just disassemble it all and put it into luggage and just make sure its packed securely. There is no way in hell these days that you can bring a marker in carry-on.

You can take it in your luggage, disconnected from your tank. If you have CO2, I doubt you can take that on the plane. You can fly with HPA because you take off the reg and there is no difference in air pressure when you're at elevation. You have to tell the guys at the check-in desk that you have a paintball marker in your bag, though so you're not out a gun when you land because they confiscated it.

Stay on site, there is no other experience like camping at OK D-day. You really do miss out on a lot if you stay somewhere else.

As far as how much to bring, depends on what you want to do. If you are going to play in every game and shoot a lot of paint, you will need some cash. Paint is $65 a case. Also, there are lots of vendors there with super deals. I will most likely bring around $500 cash, but I am a commander and wont shoot a lot of paint. I do plan on making some purchases there.

There is a Wal-Mart less than 30 minutes away if you need to make a run to the grocery store, there is usually a group that goes daily. You can buy ice on site, but I suggest filling up your cooler before hand, and getting ice when you go to Wal-Mart.
