Bc it's around 70.00 to preregister if you don't want to be in a random squad, and 65 per 2000 paintball.
Now if your just talkin about the equipment then a tippmann a5 is the way to go. Get an apex barrel and a response trigger is cheaper than a (etrigger and those won't be allowed unless it has a block for the full auto setting) for a vest you probably want to check BT and other military sites, MAKE SURE it can hold 2 tanks (big one, and a 9 oz which can fit in a pod spot)
Stay away from a Tippmann, and Apex as well. Like the poster above said is 400 for registration too? Also, I know countless scenario teams who run with speedball guns (myself for that matter) and if you want a good example check out Total Insanity.

to the OP-this is not very good marker advise, tippmanns are all overpriced and the add-ons they sell are rediculous, if you look at a spyder for another perspective you can get a pilot with and electronic grip frame and eyes (something tippmann has never even tried to use) for around $160, now try to get an A-5 with a e-frame and its going to cost you at minimum $250, all for a hevier larger marker without eyes?
if you are trying to get a marker, and register for OK d-day all on that $400 im sorry to tell you but its not going to happen, you can get a pretty good beginning setup on that $400 if i were in your shoes id take a good hard look into the blackheart vibe by smart parts. unbalanced spool valve operation (tippmanns and spyders are all blowbacks) eyes and will work on CO2.

Dude you got to get a tippman a-5 but the dude has a point there over priced your choice
Could you possibly explain why it is better to get the a-5 other then the fact you are more than likely a fanboy. Also, OP listen to Trbo and I suggest you read the are you goint to reccomend a Tippman thread under new players.

never ask this question, its either a) they can not answer or B) the whole thread just gets filled up with the same old conversation and the OP never gets questions answered

Like he said with just 400 your not even getting a walmart gun and going to okdday
And tippmanns are not expensive, I buy and sell on eBay all the time, I just got my friend an a5 with etriiger flatline( also ok barrel, just different; and ignorant ppl hate different) and a hpa tankand all the gaer for 2 ppl for 202.00. And my friend just bought a package with 4 a5 for 350.00 so their not terribly expensive and I can hook you up if you want one, personally I have an a5 x7 spyder tac 5 and tiberious t9( diversity is good) when I go to okdday I bring all of them but use tippmann most bc it looks the best and works the best but if your going to play speed ball then tippmann is not ur best choice bc the tippman is ment for accuracy not spittin out balls at 25 bps though it can with the cyclone feed system sry for the atrocious grammar I'm using my iPhone bc I'm at the nvs paintball tourney and I can't get connection with my other stuff
I hope that explained it well enough, I don't hate any paintball market so pls don't make a big deal about every little thing I said, it's completely up to you to buy the gun you want and if you want me to look on eBay for good deals on any gun I will be happy to set you up

There are so many markers out there I can't, you can't tell me why a certain gun is the best either because there are pros and cons for every gun, some are quiet( not tippmann) some are accurate at long ranges (tippmann with no upgrades and a flatline) and some are light, heavy, intimidating, functional, etc, NO gun is perfect, though some get pretty close, I'll let you decide which those are (last post probably so bye) email me at jta.123@hotmail.com if you want me to hook you up with tanks, gear, upgrades, markers, filler stations, etc...for really cheap) BYE c u all at okdday!!!!!!!!!!!!

first of all i never said there was a perfect marker, there is no such thing, but there are higher performance markers and lower performance markers, as there are also markers that are better values than others, any blowback is a lower performance marker and tippmanns are some of the worst values in paintball. no marker is more accurate than another, (NO marker) the only two things that determine accuracy are the barrel and the paint, all the marker does is put a burst of air behind the paintball, kick will play into it at higher BPS but ball per ball no marker is more accurate. same with range, and you have clearly bought into the advertising hype of the flatline, if you did some digging you would find that the flatline has the same usable range as any other barrel out there, yes the paint goes further but at its extended distance it bounces off everything and in a game where marking someone is the point getting bounces does you no good. flatline also has some pretty bad accuracy since you are putting backspin on the ball it tends to float around a lot. o and you have to shoot something with a pretty thick shell just so it can survive the trip through the curves, so forget shooting anything that is high grade, it all has a thinner shell so it will break too easily.
for the price of a new tippmann you can get a new unbalanced spool marker from SP, and for the price of a used tippmann you can get a new spyder with e-frame, so unless you find one in good condition for $50 they are not worth it
theres a very brief explination of why tippmanns are nolonger a good value without even going into the design of the marker.

Congrats on getting to attend OK D-Day, you will have a blast. This will be year number 5 for me. $400 will be enough to get a nice setup. Some vendors sell used markers, at VERY good prices. You can buy either CO2 or HPA tanks (3500 psi for $50), vests, and the whole shebang for lots less than you would pay retail. My RAP4 vests that retail for 125 I got for 70 a piece.
Paint costs $65 a case, depending on your playing style and what day you arrive, you may need more than one case. PM me with any questions.
