I am a newb and I am proud, but one thing I do hate, is cowards in paintball.... Hell, in woodball and speedball (play both) requires tactics. Hell during one scenario game, me and this guy were scouting ahead, and we got into a bunker to take a break.... Well, 6 enemy comes walking by and I am sitting at the entrance ****ting my pants, my finger twitching really bad... ((I have bad trigger finger..... Its horrible when i get into the hot and heavy firefights)) WEll, if the kid would have turned his head an inch, he would have saw me. Well me and this guy are newbs, but in paintball I have the tendency to take control and start to issue orders. And i make hand gestures, basically telling to wait to pop up for my signal. Well, they passed the bunker, and i counted to 3 jumped up and unloaded, we got 4 or 5, and the other ran off... I have had probs with newbs though. Ok, i was going on a mission with a 3 man team. Me, and 2 smaller people. I was basically using the smallest and fastest for point, and the other as his back up and I was the big guy that laid down heavy cover fire. Well, we were moving through the woods, and they ran off towards a big firefight. My mission was to assasinate the other team's leader. And i was hoping to hit them hard and fast taking out The grinch, but no, they had to peel off. Then of course, we were than going to assault the Alamo (enemies main base) and i called for a medic making sure we had one. I told him to stay back.... All the guys i were with weren't really newbs and we all had each other covered, and with scouts too..... WEll, we hit them from one side, and I get shot in the leg.... I call for a medic..... He disappeared. I am done..... for now

I'm guessing that you are talking about the Skirmish D-Day event, in which case it's located in Jim Thorpe, PA. The only other D-Day event that's well known is the Oklahoma D-Day.

I tried to get people together last year, it didn't work. No one found each other, or people were just too friggen scared to meet up.

I'm all for a PBF squad this year. Before D-Day comes up we'll have to hand out contact information. Everyone has cell phones now so i'll just hand my number out and we'll meet up at a location.

I thrive on that kind of crap. At a local scienro I was on the Mutant Team (Out numbered roughly 4 to one, we could take as many hits as we wanted [I was a green demon by the end of the day... so many welts] and one of everything three we shot out would become a mutant) I was dragging around this kid, he said he been playing for a few years, he looked it, nice impulse in his hands. We got up into a little dicth and ate up a group of Soldiers, well they were a decoy, at that point about 30 soldiers charged over the hill. I zipped off a rope then sat back down and podded. I looked to my right, the impulse kid wasn't there. I looked behind me, from what I could see he was hit a few times on the mask and a few times in the back as we was walking away wimpering as he did so. I looked downed at my gut and I had been hit 5 or six times just firing back before I podded. The point of being a mutant is to take tons of hits and never surrender. Luckly a big burly guy with a typhoon ran across the open field (another mutant) taking a whole hopper worth of hits to back me up.

Scinerio wussies just inspire me to stay in that much longer.

That's all well and good if you CAN stay in. See the problem i originally had was being left all alone by my own guys.. even the guys i play with all the time, and just getting spanked from two sides. No one can fend off two waves from two seperate teams. Especially when you're in the middle of them taking fire.

Long story short, all it would have needed was a little surpressing firing on my rear and i would have been cool. Oh well, there is always next year!! aka this year!

Not sure if I mentioned it in this thread, but I was in a two man team, we were doign some recon, trying to flank the enemy and see if they held a fort up ahead.

So me adn this kid were just leapfroggin gthrough the forest, where I give a hand signal to get down. We're in the middle of a path and way down, I see two kids jumping down from a rather large rock. We wait for them to come within range, and let off three shots. I nailed one kid.

His partner literally ran full speed in the other direction. I dont think I've ever seen anyone run that fast in my life.

And in another game, this kid with a shocker was out htere in his little C4 outfit all ready to mow muppets. Not. We're out there adn we are outnumbered 2 to 1. We were storming a hill, adn even though they had the hill, I was confident that we would be able to capture it. So was the rest of my team. So its me adn the shocker up in front becuase we've go teh firepower.

About 30 seconds into the firefight, this kid literally ups adn runs, just like the nublet in my last nlittle episode. Leaving one of my sides completely open. Needless to say I got eliminated.

Scenario is growing. It has more people in it now I believe but Tourney is growing fast.

That and scenario doesn't get as much media. No hate to scenario, I just think it won't be as huge as Tourney within the next few years.

Yah scenario is so much more fun than tourny for me right now (don't get me wrong I love them both but scen is better IMO). Yah, If I make it to D-Day at skirmish this year, I'm bringing 3 other guys with me. When we're together in scenarios we totally own. We have good cover tactics (like we are able to efficiently cover each other) and none of us are afraid of a little paint. We would readily jump right through a rope of paint if it means helping the team.

Plus theres that whole "shoot em all, let God sort em out" mentality we have. We don't bother with asking people what team their on if we're separated from the main group. We had people whove stolen armbands before and that just pisses us right off.

Angry Excuse me!

I do not think this is true at all!!! I have not been playing paintball nearly as long as you, I'll admit that. I am not the best paintball in the world, I know that. However, when I played in my first *big* paintball tournament last weekend, do you know who the biggest problem was??? The people who had been playing so long that they thought that they were the Gods of paintball. I managed to sneak myself and one other person up behind a group of 50 players and I took out 4 of them before I got hit. 1 of the 4 I hit took his mask off and threw it at me and began to scream what a cheater I was, basically for not charging him head on like everyone else. He also commented on how that is why girls should not be allowed to play. And the other 3 he was with refused to leave the field because they agreed I cheated. I know the team these guys were on, though I will not say their name, I know that they have all been playing over 10 years, and that they know better. I also pulled off a spectacular dead mans walk and this time had a gun thrown at me by the same type of player and he threatened to kill me. Once again, I know exactly what team he was off of, he in particular brags about playing for almost 20 years.
Whenever I needed someone to go do something stupid on a mission, I had people who had been playing weeks and months who were volunteering and who were getting it done just as well if not better than people who had been playing years. I never had a problem with anyone newbies not following the rules and not following orders.
So please, go on, and tell me how bad us new people are.

-Anna

Read my post

I said the guys that were running in fear, and not helping out are the bad ones, not the new players in general. I even stated my own teammates that have played with me for years, ditched me.

As for your dead mans walk, that is cheating, so they are correct. You were giving the false impression that you were dead, and they honorably let you walk off the field without shooting. What you did, was a slap in the face to those that gave you respect. So yes, i can agree with them on that.

As for the sneaking up, I do not know the circumstances so I cannot tell you whether or not it was cheating. You could have been out of play, or in an area where you were not to be shooting. Scenarios are like that, pay close attention to the rules.

Also if these were fat Italian guys wearing gold chains and barking orders, you will find that at every scenario. Just push the tub of lard out of the way, and know that you can at least see you toes in the shower.
