What pisses me off is you get these guys who talk a lot of ****, and then you get them on the field and they're the biggest pansies, or they come out in like a life vest so it doesn't hurt when they get hit.
LOL never heard of a life vest being worn before....XD

Deadman's walk IS cheating. You are giving the impression that you are out of the game in order to eliminate another person. Just because it isn't in the rulebook, doesn't mean it isn't cheating.
I've had it done to me and luckily the rule that day was you couldn't mark someone if they were less than 10 feet away. So he just said surrender. I just looked at him and said "Get back over there."

CHEATING DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN ILLEGAL.

yup get hit once, the fear is gone. doesnt hurt at all, unless you get nailed in a painful spot...back of head for example.

We have newer equipment, cheaper prices, and more areas to play then ever before. One thing we do not have though, is the quality of players we used to take for granted.

This past weekend I attended a 24 hour-long scenario game in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. This game had over 2,500 paintballers from around the eastern seaboard. From past experiences at these games, I was expecting a good match between the Axis and the Allies. (D-Day scenario) What I got was anything but what I expected.

Right from the opening charge, the men were separated from the boys. Half the Axis force was fighting on the front lines they were supposed to. I was eliminated so I was returning to find a ref to punch me back in. I saw the other half of the Axis force huddled behind trees way off the line. After directing some of them to where we needed help, they refused to move from their spot. Their hoppers were full; their loaders haven’t been touched. They were truly afraid of getting hit with a paintball this happened all day on both sides.

Several times I would make an advancing move to try and make the Allies mess up when we came under attack. Every time I was un supported and left out in the wind with my pants down so to speak. It got to the point where I didn’t even want to play anymore. There was no point in it. Half the people I was with were too scared to actually play. I sat out most of the second day since I would be alone and dead in a few mins after going in anyway.

The other problem is ballers running away. Groups that outnumbered smaller groups by a good amount of people would just turn and run at blazing speed. There is no excuse for this! It wasn’t like they were leading us into an ambush, since they all retreated in different directions, no organization at all. Most of the time leaving 2 or 3 of their serious ballers behind to die.

So in conclusion the new ballers today lack the qualities of the old ones. Paintball is becoming less fun for me knowing I’m going to be the only guy up front when the rest of my team is hiding behind some bush wetting themselves. The Scenario scene used to be the best one IMO. Now it seems like the players themselves are killing all the classic forms of paintball.

What does the future hold for someone like me in paintball? Or is this the first nail in my paintball coffin…

i agree. i maybe 12 ,but i play a lot of speedball and i am always runing to there faces and shoot them. trust me in 2006 i will be with with good people

why wouldn't someone just hit them with a little friendly fire? teach them that a paintball is not a debilitating object.

I've seen 2 vids of a guy getting lit up, willingly, by a firing line. Maybe that should be done to the scared little noobs.

The funny thing is, you guys are the exact reason why i made a thread like this. You're just proving my point. You need to be more mature when it comes to this sport, or else the vets get really pissed off at you and take it out on you.

Some poor 12 year old got it at skirmish because he wouldn't stop shooting my brother. My brother was hit in the hand, and he put his arms up and walked out. Well the kid kept shooting at him and hitting him. So he got a good look at the kid, where he was at, and his gear. When he reinserted he found him, and the angel '05 speed ramping did the rest. Normally i hate over shooting, but if you're going to be a little ***** and shoot at people that are obviously out, then you deserve to get your ass handed to you.

i wasn't saying to just turn on them without warning. tell them you are going to help them get over their fear of being shot and that what they are about to experience won't be a tenth as bad in the game. If they can't take 10 shots from a decent distance then paintball isn't for them because they probably won't be able to stand taking one or two to the arm or something.

How else are they going to learn?

They're going to learn when you leave them in the dust. Time and time again at scenarios, i find myself alone facing a HUGE amount of guys. People fail to understand the idea that dying out there isn't the end of the world. Also take into consideration that chances are the guys you run into are behind enemy lines, and they're not about to get reinforcements anytime soon, so the more of them you take out, the less of them there are for the next group to handle.

You can’t think about individual glory, it’s for the good of the team as a whole. Running away solves nothing. Stay close to the enemy, and you cut his chances of making a rational decision that could cost you the game.

there's nothing in that statement i don't agree with. The problem is, getting it through to the ones that constantly run away.

It's not really a problem if you're infront of them where you should be. If the guys infront of you are running away, then you're too far back

ya sorry about my post before
ppl running away probably ruins it for the enemy too because it takes all the fun out of the game when ur trying to shoot someone and instead of running straight at you their running away in S-patterns
