Questions for experienced ION owners..

Alright guys.. I just recently purchased an ION and i have a couple of questions about the different settings and what not and i dont want any crap from people that don't know jack about IONs so if your one of those people then stop reading now. My biggest concern in the trigger. Basically its impossible for me to rip like i want to with the magnet in on Semi. I mean i rip so so with the magnet in but in ramping mode, so i took the magnet out and set it on my rebound and it bounces like crazy 1 trigger pull = 6 shots. Its rediculous. How should i adjust the trigger to get maximum bps out of my gun. I know it also depends on the person shooting but lets ignore that fact for now, i can adjust to the gun. I was interested in the "thebetterone" triggers which are supposed to be lighter and have less side movement.

As far as the Dwell and ROF setting go, how should i go about adjusting that. Right now i have the ROF all the way up and havent messed with the dwell at all. The trigger pull is as short as it can be while the travel is a little longer.

Any tips on how to achieve ez ripping would be greatly appreciated.

the stock trigger is hard for me to rip on w/o rebound, no matter how i set the adjustments. personally, i like the magnets in. i am planning on getting a new trigger soon...one that fits my style (i cant walk or rake...i "jack it off" with one finger). i couldnt tell you about the dwell. so far, im not helping, am i?

i suggest you find you a trigger that suits you. thebetterone seems to have a good rep, and his prices aint too bad. maybe one of the others here can help you with your dwell issue......you may be able to compensate your style with the dwell, but i doubt it.

yeah, everyone who has tried "thebetterone"'s triggers absolutely love them, so i'm sure you can go wrong with one, and for only $25, their pretty cheap

as for the time being, what you might want to try is putting a flame to the magnet that you took out, then putting it back in. heat on magnets weakens them, so the trigger wont feel as snappy as it did stock. just dont heat it too much, and your basicly back to having no magnet in there.

and i'm not really sure what you want to know concerning dwell. as far as i know (and i dont know much), the dwell doesnt effect the trigger pull at all

definately get the betterone trigger, its so sick, its not even funny. Dont mess with dwell, put ur rof at 17, take out magnet, adjust triger to liking, dont ever... EVER think of putting a revvi on there.other than that, you should be able to get 17 in semi. I have anyway..

change the dwell settings to get more efficiency. leavy your operating pressure at 180 then over the chrono lower your dwell until you are in the correct velocity range. (I like 280 fps myself.) so I have 180 psi, and dwell of 46. its going to be different for every gun. you just need to set yours.

Sandman, dwell comes set at 52 from the factory, which is supposed to be good for CO2. If u r running N2, drop it to around 40 for better efficiency. As for the trigger, depending on your style, you should be able to adjust to hit 13-14 bps in semi. If not, try the heating the magnet mod, as suggested already. If you want to just buy a new trigger, Thebetterone trigger is supposed to be great and he even has magnet versions (the magnets are not as strong as the stock one). Good luck!

ok another question...should the rate of fire setting be set all the way up or all the way down.. because a post i read said that the setting is actually for the recharge time between shots, therefore the higher the setting is, the more time between shots allowing for less bps. Is this correct?

the rate of fire setting will limit your BPS, it has absolutely nothing to do with your recharge rate. to me, i would set it all the up, to give myself the max ROF available. what it limits is the time between shots regulated by the circuit board

your recharge rate is limited by the volume of air that can be passed through your components. that is not adjustable, you have to buy new stuff for that or modify the stuff you have. the biggest factor in recharge rate is usually the regulator.
