Just got my Ion today, so of course I wanted to test it out. Didn't have my HPA tank yet so I put a remote on my 20 oz C02 tank and hooked it up to the gun AFTER I turned the regulator way down. Put it on semi and eventually worked the regulator up to about 150 psi. It was shooting awesome with the remote. The gun was only getting gas and the gun did not freeze once out of about 1000 shots.

Well, then I decided to put it on rebound and absolutely no freeze ups whatsoever on the gun. Only 1 break in the barrel out of the 1000 shots. (was using old PMI Big Balls, so I was expecting that) Was having one little problem though, on rebound, whenever I got the ROF way up, it would slow down, not shootdown, but the rate of fire would slow way down, then go back up after the hopper caught up. I was thinking it was because my Egg was a little slow on feeding. What do you think? If thats the problem, then I will probly have to buy a Halo.

The feedneck was a huge pain to try to get the Egg on. Luckily I ordered a Check It feedneck, that worked 10 times better. Took a little while to get used to changing modes. But its easy after awhile.

I have seen a lot of reviews on the Ion, but none with C02, so I thought I would make one. Overall, I was very impressed.

u use a reloader on mine...no problems, so its probally the loader

i've shot mine on co2 as well. have to keep the dwell at stock but it works.

Gas C02 is fine. Can be a hassle sometimes to keep liquid out of ur gun tho. Crap, so its looking like I'll probly have to get a Halo B then?

it probably slowed down because the hopper wasnt feeding fast enough... thats what the eyes are there for

Im with P4IN7 B4LLS the egg can only feed fast for the first few seconds, then it feeds 14 I think? (dont qoute me on this though)

So Halo is probly gonna be the fastest yet cheapest hopper for Ion right? Except for a Reloader B, but I dont got $150 to spend on a hopper.

halo b or reloader b is gonna be your best bet. its always nice to have a hopper that is faster than the gun rather than one that is evenly matched (like the egg).

i dont know how you feel about used stuff, but i got mine for $55 broke, but it was under warranty and i sent it to oddessy and they fixed it for free...plus gave me a bag for it and some stickers. so, keep your eyes open.

or you could get smittys y board mod and save urself some cash and have a pretty good fire rate.

I figured it wouldnt quite keep up but it would most deff be better then a stock egg, that is if he doesnt have the cash for a Halo which is well worth the cost.

^^ I agree. My y-board egg will hold 14-15bps, but can't stay constant above that. z-board should get you to a constant 17, or so. I am waiting for my modded y-board to come back from Smitty and I will let everyone know how much it improves.

Keep in mind, if you use ramping to get to and stay at 17bps, your gonna fly through the paint. Paint costs $ and it sounds like you are a bit strapped for those $. I suggest use ramping sparingly and the egg (either upped to z or modded) should work.

I like the ricochet appache my self. 1/2 lb lighter than halo b and feeds 20 bps.
( I know a guy that sells them too...)

u don't need that much speed, but it would keep your profile down! I'm still not sure how well/reliably those work.

take your pick, used halo or new apache, bout the same price. and bout the same performance for a gun like this.
