ION Lubricaiton and a few ?'s

I have a question that i have SEARCHED for and didnt find much. The directions in the book are quite vague to me on oiling the ion. Take in mind im coming from a spyder background where lots of oil on the bolt and striker are about it. I went and got a tube of the shocker grease and now im curious about placement of it. I am certain on the orings in the gun, On thebolt i assume the portions of it in the back where it gets small is a plus. Is there any other areas that i am missing or that shall be lubed as not specified in the manual? Also are any of you guys noticing this problem as well:
Set the pressure at 180 on reg and turned dwell down until i got it around 280-290. If i take a 40 sec break from shooting my first shot is around 315 then they go down to around 280but i am not seeing the consistancy that others are talking about with the regulator. The more i shoot the lower it goes and i am using a fully charged 68 4500 crossfire. Maybe i should just put the BL tolpedo on. I dunno.
thanks ahead of time for any info guys and gals.

Doug

p.s. what barrels has everyone gone to and how do you like it?

if you got a torp, use it. but id be willing to bet that your dwell is also a tad low. but, dont mess w/ it till you change regs.

i dont think i'd lube anything the book dont say.

basicly shock lube is dow 33. it is technically a pneumatic grease. What does that mean to you? It means that it will lubricate and help seal the orings. So when lubing the gun, apply a small amount of dow to each oring on the gun. it will provide them with moisture and reduce friction. Your bolt should slide on the orings only. So just lube the orings and you will be fine. Do not over lube, it will cause problems.

As for the FPS creaping up on you, you need to raise your dwell and lower the operating pressure. My gun would work great (dry fire) at a dwell of 7 but had to raise to 12 to get consisten shots.

wish i could

wish i could use the tolpedo reg but the problem is when it screws it it lacks about 3/32's from flushing up when you screw it in. It feels like if you turn it hard it might go the rest of the way but it definitely does not screw in as easy nor as far as the stock one. someone said i need to put more orings ontop of it. I eyeballed the 2 regulators and they look to be the same. I dunno.

Doug
i think my dwell is around 30 something now.

That is a comon problem people have been having with the torpedo reg on the ION.
I have read other posts that the issue was solved by putting 2 extra orings ontop of the reg, then installing. It will still not screw in all the way, but it should seal. Its up to you.
