Debating to buy
I was debating on buying an Ion, so I wanted to get some feedback. I'm still relatively new, however I love the sport and I want to get a nice gun to grow into. I currently have a Piranha GSX (Basically a GTI) but I was looking at a higer end marker. I don't think I'll ever get to the level of playing to justify a Bob Long type marker, but reading over the Ion made me think of getting it. It seems like a really high end marker like the advertising says, so I'm thinking of purchasing it. I know theres always a drawback though, and I wanted to know what you guys thought of it?
Also, does it come with a tournament lock?
Thanks,
Mike

I would definatly reccomend it. I have one personally and love it. It can compete with most high end guns, and costs about 1/3 as much.
Because you have to take it apart to change the modes, when its in semi-auto, it has a tournament lock.

Yeah more research on it makes me really want to buy it. I know that some ppl prefer nitro in higher end guns, the feild near me runs hpa only, is it cool with hpa?

HPA is prefered with the Ion. You cannot run Co2 unless you have a anti-syphon. A anti-syphon is a tube that is inserted into the co2 tank bent in the upward position so that it limits the amount of liquid co2 that goes into your gun. But HPA is prefered much more over anti-syphon co2

I really havent found very many drawbacks except the regulator and a few cosmetic things such as the duckbill and feedneck, but i mean u can play with those things. i think that this marker will spark a whole new industry of higher-end and cheaper priced paintball guns. benefitting us

highly recommend u get one. and yes, the reg can be upgraded, along with the feedneck, bottom line asa, trigger, grips, barrel.......
but seriously, it is a great marker out of the box and the upgrades can be done over time.
