Ion
Im thinking about buying towards the middle or end of the summer..... i am just wondering how much it would be to get an Ion, a nice air tank(not to expensive), a good hopper(what kind too preferably a evo 2 or halo b) and a nice barrel (under 75)... i calculate that i will make around $1900 with my job.

1900...damn
lets see...
ion = 285
tank = 200 (68/4500, new)
halo b = 105
barrel = 75 (50 for a CP 2 piece)
tank cover = 30 (for a "nice one")
total = 695 + shipping (for some of the items, unless they are from a free shipping place)
if you had 1900, you could get all kinds of stuff...
on/off asa rail combo = 40
new reg = 100 (a really good one)
feedneck = 30
QEV with QD = 20
new grips = 30
upgrade to barrel kit = 100 (extra)
fill nipple cap = 15 (the one with the bungee cord)
good mask = 60ish
pants = 100
jersey = 50
total = 505
grand total = 1200...still got 600 to go play some PB
....edited fro mathmatical errors....

i think ur first total is $700 + shipping... but u got ur grand total right! lol. and onesikpup pretty much sed it all. unless u get a used 68/45 which would be like 120ish, save 80 bucks.
Edit: get a used tank and ur in the clear!

well, i fixed my math....you can get mostly what you need for just under 700 new. there are places to get decent used stuff...you just gotta play it safe...
(i also thought you were going to have 1900 to spend....thats why i did the extras. i didnt realize 1900 was what you were going to make total...)

not buying till mid summer or later? BUY USED!!!!
I bet by mid summer you could get an ion w/loader for less than 250.
Tank is always a good idea to buy new unless you know what you are looking for and how to fix them. Used eggs go for $40 all over the place. (sometimes even new)
If you are nervouse about buying used, you can use me as a thirdparty and I will inspect/repair and charge the seller for any parts needed.
Just throwing that out there as an option. If time is on your side, deals are always easy to find.
I totally understand if you are wanting something new though. nothing quite like opening a new in box marker!

You don't honestly 'need' a Halo for the Ion. While 17 bps is impressive a Apache can feed 20 bps and quite a bit cheaper than the Halo. I think you should get an Apache and put that money toward a nicer barrel, don't forget you want to get a new trigger as well.

You can easily get all you need for that much, I think onesikpup listed it very nicely. And about the HALO vs. Apache, you could go with an Apache, but if new boards comes out for the ION, which ive heard are in the making, then you will need somthing that can feed faster. Because the new boards will probably not be capped at 17 bps.
