Removed 2 Solenoid Rods.... problems?

I just got my 05 shocker about 2 weeks. I started taking it apart trying to clean in up and lube it down. I removed the 2 bolts underneath the bolt guide. I believe they are the solenoid air guides or something last night. After reading up on my gun here and at pbnation.com, i found out that was a bad idea.....

On pbnation it says that you have to take trigger frame off, remove the board/solenoid, remove the solenoid plater, and look down the tiny holes to see and make sure the holes on the rods line up with them..... Is that true? I was also told that you can just screw the rods in until they are flush with the angled back part of the gun. Please let me know what you guys think. Any advice would be great! Thanks

I had a teammate do the same thing. He tore 2 of the orings doing it and lost one from the solenoid.
From the research I did I found similar posts. Most were not to ever touch them. I found several posts about re-installing and "optimizing" them. Take a look at YDNA's site or for a couple posts on nation. Wish I could be of more help but I am by no means a shocker expert.

It's true. you can get them close but to make sure you have them right you will need to do that.
