Problem w/ Ion check it out!
I love the Ion so far.. can't wait to use it.. I have emailed Smart Parts regarding my problem but I have to wait till Monday till they can reply so maybe you guys can help..
Here is the problem I emailed to Smart Parts please help if you can!
Hi,
I just puchased the Blue Ion, I received it today, and went to my proshop and they installed the QLock feedneck on my Ion. I dissambled it, I watched a video to do it, and I put it back all together correctly. Here is the problem, I put the battery, turn the gun on, did everything correctly, also put my Crossfire 47/300 tank in my gun. I tried shooting and nothing was happening, I then realized there was air leaking around the hose line, and regulator (grip). (Note: I didn't tamper or move anything of the hose line, asa, or regulator.
I have heard that you have to turn down the regulator all the way.. so with the wrench that one part (velocity thing?) under regulator I turned counter clock wise (is that correct to turn it down?) and I turned it down a lot, so like people say right when you get it so the solenoid would break or explode. I realized it was too low when I put my air in it was at 0 I think. I then turned it up to around 50 psi and it was leaking..
I was thinking it might not be turned up enough (200 psi Ion operates) but maybe it should work anyways.. I have not the biggest tank in the world I will get 500 shots each fill around, with the leaking of air I didn't take it out right away and in a min I had 3000 on my air and it is down to 2000.

make sure the regulator is tight. if it's loose it will leak.

The gun won't cycle unless it gets that 200psi.
I remember hearing about sp having some hose that leaked in the 1st run. They addressed the prob w/ new hose, and the replacement hose that came w/ the ion should be fine. So replace the hose that u heard leak.

the air is coming from the macroline?? the black hose that goes into the reg?? take it out and flip it around and see if that fixes it. if thats the hose you are talking about leaking.

i just used my ion for the first time and on the regulator valve when the psi gets above 140 it starts to hiss and it happened during a game and i thought i blew an o-ring but when i turned it down it stopped. is there any reason it does this? i made sure everything was tight and i just got the gun. is this caused by dry fire?

U don't have a good seal. Tell us exactly where the leak is from.
Dry firing didn't do it.

Mine is coming from the regulator on top also!
I screw it all the way in I screw it all the way out still leak!
And.. no I was very careful when I first put the tank in I had it all the way down 0 psi then I was increasing it to 50 psi then a leak.
It took a pain to get rid of that feedneck, it was almost impossible I brought it to my proshop and for $10 they replaced it with my QLock, now right when I put air in it leaks? ... I am starting to have 2nd thoughts about this gun.. I might have to go back to my A5.. That is of course I emailed Smart Parts and they will write me back tom. but my warranty is voided 2 because I put the stupid feedneck on which I like, because my Halo wouldn't fit on the stock one.

Feednecks are tough to get off b/c they put a glue like substance in there to hold it on. Just heat it and use a strap-wrench.
Put a 2nd o-ring on top of the regulator.
