Ion Troubles
My ion has a problem. When I'm in the middle of a game, I don't even have to shoot fast and my ion will stop firing, even when i squeeze the trigger. I have to push the red button once to get it to where it blinks twice rapidly, shoot once, then press it again so it blinks fast and the eyes are on. My loader is on, and it can't be the vision wire harness because I replaced it. I replaced the battery too. Some thing has too be wrong with my eyes. I don't know.
Please think and help me. It's been going on for a long time now.

sounds like your loader isn't feeding for some reason.. or the eyes don't see the paintball. I have heard if you are using a dark shelled paint that sometimes the eyes will not "see" the ball.
Either that or your eyes are dirty.

The Ions eyes are beam break so the ball breaks the beam. So you should not have to worry about the color of the ball
What it may be is a little bit of dirt or a lose wire. Cause I had to replace the Vision board on mine when some thing shorted or burned out

or it could be your detents. if they get worn out, the ball may roll past the eyes and the marker won't shoot. feel thru the front of the breech with your finger to see if the detents are worn down. if so, replace! I believe ********* painball sells the stock replacements for $3 and they also have aftermarket ones.

what brand paint are you using.........a cheaper grade may have dimples in it which allow the ball to roll past the ball detents, thus not allowing the eyes to function properly.
I noticed that when I ran a hopper of cheap paint through mine on the field, I had a similar problem.
just a thought..........

get air in a can.....take out the bolt etc......spray down the breech and clean everything out !!! then if it still doesn't work then get to the board and c if the eye wiring is attached all the way, if not then just hook it back up

Double check the contacts on your harnesses to make sure they aren't dirty where they plug into the board. You can use a pencil eraser to clean it if the copper is dirty.

What kind of loader are you using.......is it battery powered and did you try to change the batteries in that?
I had that problem this weekend after I dove into a snake and jammed my hopper...............

4 things:
1. Eye's are dirty
2. Loader not working
3. Detends
4. In my gun, sometimes, a ball wont go down the Ions feed neck, and it will be about a milameter above the eyes, and switching the gun to ramp (eyes off. w/e it is) when you shoot, it will shake the ball down into the eyes.
Try this:
Get a few paintballs, take off you tank/loader/etc. etc. then drop a few paintballs down the feedneck (softly) see if any don't fall completly.
If it isn't one of the four, then I don't know...
