$1.00 Ion Mod
I was looking at my gun the other day and was watching the gauge as i fired it and noticed it was dropping a fair bit. So I read up on aftermarket regulators and they were saying that they will reduce shot drop off because they allow a higher volume of air through. This got me thinking so I pulled off the airline and looked at it and noticed that it was extremly thick and only had about a 1/16 hole for air to travel through. (BTW I am a heavy equiptment/ transport truck mechanic with a knoledge in air systems) I went to the shelf and grabbed 1/4 inch nylon airline (good for 300 psi) and put that on. the inner diameter is about 4 times the size of the stock line which allows a lot more air through faster. put it on the gun and notched that according to the regulator it charged faster and the pressure did not drop nearly as fast.
I am going to crony the gun tonight with both lined on it and post the results later.
So go to your local truck stop or repair garage and tell one of the mechanics that you need about 1 ft of 1/4 inch nylon airline, the guy will probably give it to you for free or might charge you a very low fee.

Even tho i dont have an ion it sounds like a cool mod. Doesnt that void the warranty?

I dont think it will void the warranty but just keep the old airline just in case.
And yes i do realize that tanks put out a lot of pressure however. this mod only allows a more consistant pressure because of the increased volume of air that is waiting to be sent into the gun
i just realized what running riot was saying. I have not had any problems with my line so far but let me check the operating pressure of the line before you put it on the gun.
so hold off on the mod for now as the line could burst

what is the inner diameter of your hose? and you are talking about the line that goes from the regulator to the solenoid correct? I actually use a 5/32 hose there instead of the specked 4mm because its a little smaller. it fits the barbs tighter and prevents blow off. By the sounds of it, my hose kit does the exact oposite of your mod. I actually reduced the ID instead of increasing it. 200 + sold now, and 0 complaints. as long as your hose fits the connectors provided, you will increase your post regulator volume (not by much) and without changing the barbs "higher flow" will not be obtained. I ran a stubby CP reg on my ion and had no recharge or shoot down issues with the dwell adjusted properly.
Not sure you will gain any performance but a good cheap source for replacement hose.
**Edit, are you talking about the macro line? If so, please don't recomend someone run a 300 psi line there. If you have some bad line, then let me know and I can get you some better stuff.
these are the specs for hobbyhorse's macro line
Nylon 11-
Tubing .150" ID, 1/4" OD, .050" Wall
• Tensile Strength: 9425 psi
• Elongation: 360%
• Materials Meet: UL 94HB
(flame retardant), except
where noted
notice the tensile strength...

its more of a spare hose kit, if the hose in your gun fails, switch it out. if its not broke though... don't fix it!
I replaced all of mine for testing purposes and ran about 50 cases of paint threw it with the qev and hose kit installed.
