Hmm, what are the technical differences? Would the "old style" still shoot accuratly and be relatively quiet? Are there still parts for the "old style"? How much could the "old style" sell for, or trade in for?

They are completly different guns, just share the name.
The oringal shocker: Closed bolt, difficult to find parts for, slow(physically capped at around 14 bps), has 2 solenoids instead of one(contributes to the speed), etc.
New shocker: Open bolt, faster,etc.

The orignal shocker was horrible on air as well(worse then new shockers, yes). It will be quieter then your tippman.
