Ion Stops Firing . . . Why???
Ok, here is the problem.
I have an ion - love the marker, never had a probelm before, but recently I have developed a problem that I cannot figure out.
Sometimes (not always) in the middle of a speedball game, my ion will stop firing...........I can turn the eyes off and then it starts firing again.
When I do this, most of the time I chop paint and then have to spend the next round cleaning instead of playing.
Now - here is what I have done - I have completely disassembled the ion, being sure to clean the eyes and re-lube each of the seals.
The only thing different that I have done to the ion is put a new halo B with rip drive on it.............
any suggestions?

Not sure if this would help, but have you tried using new batteries?

well the battery i'm using is practically new, less than a ase through it
edit: it could also be the stock detents, they are crap, the paintballs could be rolling out of the chamber to the point where the eyes cant see them.

check the battery, low batteries = eyes not working ( idc if u say its new, it can still be low bc u can just shoot the gun with it turned on w/o air and paint )....then check and see if the eye wire is completely connected to the board, my proto's was a little bit out, like less than a centimeter and it didn't work....and make sure the eye wire isn't pinched or broken

before you just go buy a new wiring harness or eye board, check them out.
turn on marker, stick your finger in the breach, if the light goes rapid blinking, then the eyes are working. test them by removing your finger and watch for a solid light again.
If the eyes are damaged (which happened to mine) you can unplug the eye wire and call SP they will warrenty the eye board. As for detents test them too. put you halo on the feedneck and turn it on. does it push balls past the detents? Feel them with your finger too, are they weak?
a weak battery will make the gun "skip shots" too. turning eyes off and having flawless firing progression would not be a battery issue.
inspect your eye wire for nicks or smashed sections. (that should be $1 to replace.)
if possible use a mulimeeter to test each strand on the eye wire.

well my eye wires have a few sqished parts, but not so squished that they expose the actual wire itself.. it still works, but im still confused on why my gun would randomly stop shooting.
