Very carefully. One of the only thing I don't like about shockers, damn eye ribbons.

Just take a small screwdriver and carefully pry it out. That usually works for me.

The grey part? Picture? If you broke the connector off the solenoid board, you'll need a new solenoid board. I would also recomend you read your manual as it sounds like you didn't.
