Will the ion work well on CO2

Anyone had any luck using CO2 with an ION I was thinking along the lines of a 20 ounce CO2 tank with anti siphon feed line and only filling the tank to about 70% of capacity. One other issue to be added is the gun will be used in cool wet climates OK rain. Any input good or bad would be great to know. thanks

It will work, but it won't be good for the gun... Get HPA.

co2 is my only option

Thanks I am in search of a decent marker that will work on CO2 it is my only option, period. I am 60 to 70 miles from any one that can fill HPA or nitrogen and have 5 players of my own to have to get air for so getting a scuba tank wont fill my needs well if I spent a ton of money I could do it and then stil getting them filled without making emergency trips would not be possible. I tried lower pressure welding Nitrogen tanks had a charge station built problem is they usually start with about 2000 PSI give or take a little maybe a little more when its hot but you can only get a medium charge with a brand new tank so after a few fills you only get a light charge. I would love tyo buy a couple large welding type cylinders for 5000 PSI nitrogen tanks but they have to be shipped 4 hours from here to be filled wich means a huge expense to get started. Or have one of the paintball shops fill them for me but transporting them is liek traveling in traffic witha bomb in your truck. So the big question is there any good makers that work well on CO2 I have another post in air systems but havent heard anything promissing. I have been down this road for a few years so not to sound repetative or negative to answers like get HPA its not an option, only option is a marker that will perform well on CO2 and currently I have three tippmans with freak barrels special bolts expansion chambers two other basic stock Tippmans and they always work. But $400 to $600 later into each Tippman they still are just Tippmans. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

dang....why do you need 3 customized tippmann's? lol o well, to each his own.

umm i would look around in the new player section, their are a couple threads about this kind of situation that im sure u can find if u look. and i know this is the smart parts section (im in here cuz i own an impy) but i would go with a spyder imagine if i were you. spyders are very reliable, easy to maintain and they really look pretty good (the imagine and a couple others anyways).

I have three loaded Tippmans because I have five or six kids and family members playing at one time. So when I am looking for a CO2 fix its because one scuba tank with air wont finish the day. I can go through a 20 pound CO2 cylinder in a a day and a half of playing. We play woods ball and a lot of it. Good family therapy shoot your children dont beat them. Any way I recieved an email directly from Smart parts today stating the Impuse with aa anti siphon work great on CO2 not a bunch of well ughs and donts because well ughs, so I am going to buy one Impulse to try out. If I have good luck than maybe I can be happy about spending a ton of money on a marker. Bottom line is the Tippman works 100% of the time int he rain and cold weather. I had a New AGD mini mag big dollar gun $800 or better it shot fantastic but I had to get my HPA tanks filled 70 miles away. Tippmans just arent acurate and I would say at least two of them have the best of psossible upgrade to make this happen and I am not talking about physical upgrades, about the best barrels and internal parts they still shoot like a Tippman. Grouping on Tippma is the size of a truck door at best several other guns I have had and shot will hit a bucket consitantly. So I really am looking for a good shooting marker that will work on CO2. Thanks I dont mean to get so lengthy but I have spent hours and hours looking for a fix here so I am what you could say full of ( Cold air ) on the subject.

u should get those new propane tippys. propane is so much more accessable. as for the ion w/ co2, you wont be able to shoot as fast, and you have more of a chance of screwin up ur internals.

new guns on there way

i have been working on this gun Co2 issue for a long time. Couple days ago I recieved an email back from Smart Parrts stating " the Impulse work very well on CO2 with an anti siphon feed tank" this is the first quote stating that from any middle to upper end gun I have orderd two new Impulses with freak barrels factory regulator tape worms and vision. I will know soon if this really is the answer for my delima. We play a lot paintball when it starts cooling down enough to be comfortable, but along with the cooler temps here it rains a lot which is the real problem in itself, many guns work OK or even well a lot of the time on CO2 but throw in rain 100% humidity and colder temps and boom youve got crap. Any way i am in high hopes of this beign the fix if so I will be pushing Impulse markers on a lot of people, if not we keep searching and you can expect more questions to those who might have an answer.

i dont know if you've ever heard of the Palmers Stabilizer, but it is probably the best regulator to run if you are using co2. between it and an antisiphon, you virtually eliminate any chance of getting liquid co2 into your marker, even in below freezing temps. i owned one for a short while, and after the break in period, i had zero problems with co2. another regulator that comes highly recommended from co2 users is the Powerstation. im not sure who makes it, but i have yet to hear anything but good about them since their introduction.

stabilizers

Thanks that was an already known tip but a good one. If freeze ups continue to be a problem with the new guns I just ordered i will more than likely go with a Palmer Stabilizer. We had two guns stolen from the house a few weeks ago and I have once again been trying to find a better marker that will perform well on CO2 in my conditions. Hopefully I have made a good choice. I have two new Impulses on the way. I heard some negative replies but most including a direct yes they will work well from Smarts Parts which is the best input on any middle of the road makers yet. One guy complained about having to do $1000 worht of upgrades to make them work to his needs. My thoughts were he wanted it to perform like a $1000 marker. Dont we all. I can tell you a $1000 in a Tippman still performs like a Tippman It will hold up to CO2 and a ton of abuse but its still a Tippman.
