Ion IMF 3k?

Hey, I just joined here (finally, only been lurking for 3 or 4 months now ) anyway, Ive been playing for about a year and a half, somewhat seriously. What I mean by that is that I am fairly competative at Open X-ball/walk-on games every other saturday, but I dont do tournaments (yet)

Anyway, I have my mind set on an Ion, unless I discover some major flaw that SP has hidden very well

I noticed this Ion IMF 3000 package, and it looks great, anyone have any opinions on it?

It is the stock Ion, with a 48ci 3000psi Max-flow tank/regulator, and a Freak Jr. barrel for $400. I will then be adding a new clamping feedneck to it, and of course a red body kit

I just got an Ion last week and I have played with it once. I love it. I would recommend that you get a carbon fiber tank if you can afford it. I find that even with a hopper full of paint the marker is still back heavy with the carbon fiber so you may not like the steel tank. Plus I found that the stock barrel isnt that bad and it may be more worth your while to get a better barrel then a freak junior.

PS you wouldnt happen to play at DF in Brampton would you Dragonfire?

Hmm, maybe, its just that when I did the math for costs without the package, a worse setup came up to be a little more. Id plan on upgrading to a full freak, or a Dye barrel soon after anyway, and Ive never had a big problem with backheavy guns, though of course Id prefer them to be balenced. Ill do some more math and research on parts tomorrow, and see about a non packaged Ion.

And no, I play at PBC in Charlotte, NC

Also...the data is conflicting. 2 sources say it is a full freak, and one says it is a Freak Jr...

You said the barrel was a Frk Jr but in the pick it looks like a freak unless my eyes decieve me. It looks like down the road you would be able to just buy a new bottle. If so the package looks a lot better.

And I asked about where you play because I play at a field called Dragon Fire so I was wondering if there was a conection.

Ahh, must be a cool field to have my name

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it I figured Id try this tank, and if i didnt like it at all, Id upgrade, if I could deal with it i figured id just upgrade it eventually to a 4500psi carbon fiber thank

Ion

Wow how cheesy. Really sad attempt to sell a product. It is a good deal though. You could also get a better used deal though.

Good Deal

I would say go for it, the freak looks like a total freak (a good 90-120 value) and that steely has a max-flo inline reg on it (easily 250-325), if you dont like the steely just get a new bottle and put it on the max-flo, you will still have saved nearly 150 dollars!
