Which to get, Nerve/Shocker
Hello all,
I have been playing for a long time but I am not a gun whore. I buy one gun, baby it, soup it up, and make it my all. So I want one that is reliable, and rediculously fast.
I am an impulse freak. Been shooting one for 2 years and this gun has served me very well and never broken down once. Except for a set of ball detents. But it is frikkin HUGE. My Question is that I'm in the market for something new. I love smart parts, and I love the nerve for it's good air efficiency, field strippability, feedneck, lpr, freak, impulse threads ect... and now it is cheaper than the vision shocker at Action Village.
But everyone I know shoots shockers. I have a seen a lot of them broken down because of fragile selonoids and failed O-Rings. But I know most of these problems are operator error. I do like the feel of the shocker, but don't like having to upgrade it with HE-Bolt, feedneck, new freak back, and so on.
I guess I'm already sold on the nerve just because it is a souped up impulse platform, (well very similar anyway), and I am just in love with that. I have shot both briefly and got a good impression from both.
I kind of want to know about the durability of each. Which one is more fragile, or which one breaks down more. I have seen a ton of shockers with mad shootdown problems, but I have seen a ton that are sickly fast. You know 1/2 the pro teams in the world would not be shooting it if it sucked. That speaks well for the gun by it's self. So I just want your opinions on which do you like. No gun bashing please, just honest critiques of each gun and what you like and don't like.
Thanks a ton,

The nerve uses the exact same solenoid as the shocker. Infact, it uses quite a few parts that are the same(solenoid, board, grip frame[nerve has slightly larger trigger guard], eye[flipped connection but will work on a shocker], and regulator). So the electronics are the same just a different form of operation for the gun. If you like the nerve and have shot it and played with it and like it, then I say go for it.

the shocker is not an all around better marker
they both shoot amazing, and if you like the way it feels, go for a nerve.

I don't know which one to go w/ but, i seen video clips of the nerve being tested out at the field n yes, the performance is GREAT! The shocker on the other hand though that i seen ppl on the fields used in paintball parks pretty much work the same way. So overall, they are pretty much perform the same way unless they come out with a more current shocker.

Listen to Huey, he knows what he's talking about. I would go for the Nerve also if I were you.
Also, DyeLKThRest675, could you please shorten your sig? Thanks.
