Ion Membrane Pad and LED frame mods *PICS INSIDE*
I am able to help anyone out that has a stock Ion board to get these mods done to thier marker. I have done many Ions now, and wanted to share some photos of my work. These are from a marker that I recently did for a guy in Wisconsin. Check out the pictures: Ion Mods
I do the Dye pad, the LED's into the back of the frame, the drilling of the frame, the wiring up to the board. And all this for $45, which includes return shipping.
If anyone has questions or needs more info just PM me. Thanks.
DyeTex

I believe it allows you to switch modes without having to open the grips.

it's basically a relocated power button, and depending on what all he does with the membrane pad it can be used to change modes without opening the grips, as cool as this mod is remember than in order to enter a tournament you will most likely have to unplug the membrane pad from the adaptor that is soldered on the board good luck man IMO this is verry worth the time and money

2 questions cause I'm thinking about having you do this.
1. Do you suply the all the equipment neccisary to do the mod? Membrane pad ect.
2. What happens if you accidently screw up my gun. (not saying that you will).

An answer to all the questions:
The membrane pad is used as a new Power On button. Instead of using that red gel pad on the side of the gun, you press a nice membrane pad on the back of the gun.
I also move the 3 LED's(lights) from the board inside the grips, into the back of the frame. This allows you to see the power come on(I use a Blue LED for the power light) and also see the Yellow and Red LED's that were inside the grips if you wanted to change the modes of the gun.
The bottom button on the membrane will let you change the settings of your board. Say you get to the field and go to chrono your Ion. It is giving you some wierd FPS readings. Instead of you going to grab a screwdriver, opeing the grips, touching your board to get into the modes and try to set the dwell. You can now hit the bottom button on the membrane, go to solid red or solid yellow(depending on which way you need that dwell to go) and adjust the dwell. Shoot some shots, go back adjust the dwell, get it just right. Then you want to show off some to a friend, go to the fast blinking yellow LED, hit it once, pull the trigger. Start shooting fast and you are ramping. Go back real quick to the fast blinking red LED, hit it once, back to semi mode.
As far as your concerns BrokenMonkey, I supply all the part for the $45, and that includes your return shipping costs. I have everything to do the mods already, membranes, LED's, all of it. I am a degreed electronics technician.
If I mess up your board, I will give you mine. I have not made a mistake to anyone's board yet. I have very satisfied customers. If things become messed up after the fact, like say months down the line a wire comes loose from your board due to whatever, I am still here to repair it. I know the inner workings of the Ion board, I can repair most things. Now if you maliciously tear up your board and it's your fault, I can try to fix it, but i will charge you to do those type repairs.
I hope I can do this for some of you here. I am trustworthy and very honest. I am not trying to make soem huge profits from this, I am just trying to help out fellow ballers with Ions. Our markers are great, and this mod lets our great markers become even better in my opinion. People's heads turn when they see these mods. Refs start asking questions. And yes, the membrane connector can be totally disconnected and you go back to useing the red gel on off sticker on the side of the gun for tourneys. My mods are totally legal. Send me PM's with other questions if you want. Look forward to helping you all out.
Thanks alot.

He won't. He's a grown man and will take full responsibility if something unfortunate happens.
DyeTex- I might give you a ring in a little bit. I believe I'm going down to the Galleria if you would like to meet up.

Ok ive got a few questions. Whenever i decide to take my ion apart to clean it and i have these mods on it how would i be able to slide the board up to get it out of the frame? Or do the led's just slide out easily so i can take the board out? Also to undo the membrane pad all i would have to do is unplug it from the adapter right?

John (Mavsfan31) never heard from you yesterday. Sorry if I missed you. I should be in Irving Sunday until 2 or so in the afternoon. Hope we can meet up so I can do this mod for you.
kleivonen, just PM me if you need anything. I am mostly on during the week.
punk_pntballar, yeah the LED's just slide right out of the frame and come out with the board. They are very secure, and I heatshrink wrap all the wiring. And for the tourney unplug issues, you can just unplug the membrane at the adapter, or you can unplug it, flip it upside down, shift it up one slot and plug it back in so that the red indicator pin is in the middle hole. This will disable the modes changing ability, but allow you to still use the top pad to turn your Ion on and off.
flowbob, let me know if your friend needs any help. I am here to help you guys out. I think my price is very fair. Guys over on Nation are selling this same service for way over $60.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Let me know if I can do these mods for any of you.

Haven't been on here in a bit. It was giving me an error message everytime I tried to access the site. But that is over.
Hit me up if anyone needs these mods performed. I have been doing some Ions from other sites lately and they are liking the work. Check my feedback in the signature below.

This sounds like a great mod, and DyeTex seems like a legit dude. Will this mod work with non-stock grips? I am planning on getting stickeys or protouch.
