What Is A Qev

Everyone says to get a QEV for the ion. What does it do and how exactly does it work?

A QEV is a kinda of valve that will replaces the front bango fitting on body and it alwos the gun to cycle faster and lower the dwell setting some what.

And the QEV stands forQuick Egsuat (sp?) Valve

Basicly instead of sending air back to your solinoid it vents the back pressure at the fitting.

Yep but the stock Ion board is caped at 17 balls per sec so you will not be able to out shoot your board

the dwell is a timming setting on the gun that is how long the solinoid is turned on for. and the lower the setting the less time that the solinoid is on so a little less air is needed.

For more info take a look at your Ion manual

of course, a QEV is up on the lsit for an ion, seconded only by a good on/off for those who didn't buy the ion pro.

heres one of my posts from a guys thread in the 'ions' forum.

a QEV also provides a cheap solenoid protectant system. A QEV prevents all the lube and dirt that gets into your internals from getting into your solenoid and damaging it.

the purpose of a qev is to decrease the time it takes for the firing cycle to be completed, which effectively allows you to shoot faster, and more efficiently.

The air pressure from the solenoid holds the bolt in the rearward position. When you fire the marker, the solenoid vents the air in order for the air pressurizing the back of the bolt to propel the ball out of the firing chamber. A qev helps the solenoid vent the air more quickly, so that the air around the back of the bolt can be released, therefore firing the ball.

a good animation of what a qev does can be seen here.

A QEV just lowers the amount of time that the gun takes to cycle, letting you shoot faster with an aftermarket board, and makesthe marker more gas-efficient.
