its really really hard to do. first, you must decide if you want to keep the old feedneck or not.....not keeping it makes it signifigantly easier to take off (since you dont have to worry about damaging it).

(instructions for NOT keeping it)
first, remove the breech and feedneck from all other parts.
next, get a heat gun or hair dryer or something to heat it up with. (leasther gloves may also come in handy....so you dont burn yourself)
take a monkey wrench (preferably a large one) and twist it off.
iother options...a bench vise will work (that is how i got mine off...)
this will withyout a doubt **** it up completely

directions for KEEPING the old neck

same basic thing...you need heat and a strap wrench and a lot of patience. otherwise...you may have to take it to a professional.

the thing is...they are usually very hard to get off and will no doubt take an excessive amount of force.

Mine was actually very easy to get off, I just put the hopper on and the hopper got stuck in it, and the feedneck unscrewed when I tried to twist the hopper out. By the way, don't put your halo/reloader B into the stock feedneck, not without taking the top o-ring out. Very bad idea.

Have you tried using a strap wrench?

Great little tool because It will not scratch or damage most feed necks and regs. Also it will work with odd shaped parts too.

you have to remove everything until you are left with the breech and feedneck, which isnt really that hard. you want to heat up the breech, which will cause the metal to expand and simultaneously melt the loctite (somewhat). thus making it easier to remove the feednack with just a strap wrench.

Why, are the newer ions like updated or something? I just got mine like two weeks ago. At the time I didn't even want the feedneck to come off and it just unscrewed when I was twisting off my egg. So the next time I played I just bought a q-lock.

i just cut a big enough piece of rubber off the inflatable object inside a bycicle tire. rapped it around the feedneck. the piece of rubber served as grip for when i twisted the feedneck with a vise grip.
