and?
what size tank is it?
is your reg broken in?
got a qev?
upped bolt?
any leaks anywhere?
i'm not so sure that 300 on a 30 is that bad, but you should be getting a few more than that regularly - almost 10 per ci on a 30, 15 on a 45, and 20 on a 50...
anyway... what's your point with this thread, do you have a question, or were you simply stating your shots per fill with an ion?

he ment "broken in" like when you "brake in" your shoes? the reg has to brake in, it has to get use to it.
have u gotten any upgrades for it?

Are you dry-firing or firing paintballs. The gun uses a tad more air dry firing. That sounds about right for a 45/30 tank on a new reg.

well, damn.
my marker's (the ion) dwell is set at 12 - 16 depending if i'm shooting down or if i want to shoot more quickly...
but i have a firebolt, and a qev... i also have a virtue so i set my abs a little higher, around 10, to keep from my first few shots from dropping off...
if your ion is stock you might want to look at the 'ultimate ion sticky' to learn a little about your marker - it'll tell you where to set the dwell how to get it to 17 bps without any problems, etc. etc. etc.
about your tank and reg consistency, just like any reg the stock reg needs to be broken in before it'll be anything near it's normal +/- 2-3 depending on your marker setup...
if you want to do this quickly go to a field and get all day air, fill your tank over and over and fire it until you've shot about 3 to 3 1/2 cases... (300 shots per fill comes out to about 8 tanks if you're dry firing (which is bad for the bolt so make sure you're lubing it before you do this)) then you should get a few more shots per tank and when you're on the chrono you'll not jump so much up or down...
anywho - have fun buddy and good luck!

if you use poptart's idea to break in the tank, make sure you cover up the breach where the barrel threads in to give it some back pressure because dry-firing it without anything in front of the gun (like a ball, or a towel tightly covering the breach) you could develop some leaks in the bolt. It really isn't a terribly good idea to dry-fire any spool-valve marker without something in front of it usually

well if its a 3000 psi tank you get 10 shots per square inch. so about 450 shots per tank. Also your dwell is extremely low.

ok just a lesson dont call ur name ion freak if you know nothing about it....
there is no point to this thread
dwell is too low, get a new reg anyways
start upping your ion....
if its not upped it still ****ty.
the reason the price of an ion is low is so that you can still spend the same money but have a crazy upped gun instead of stock one

dude calm down, no need to flip out on him just because he knows nothing about an ion. Its just a user name man. All you need is a qev for the ion and your pretty much set, unless you want an on/off or a new board, i guess a feedneck would need to be in order. Just calm down man.
