Well here's the deal... I just decided to get back into paintball and bought a ICD B2K PDS w/ ups from a buddy of mine for $75 pretty good price. Before I took a break from paintball and I was shooting an Ion and loved it, so I'm looking to get rid of the B2K. I got a trade offer to my B2k for a Impulse 2K3, I dont know much about this gun, but how does it compare to the Ion? I also found a great deal on a Ion. I'm considering just trading my gun for the Impulse and buyng the Ion, so I'll have two guns... Which one is the better gun and for what reasons? I'm not looking to do large tournaments. I'm a descently serious player, do a few small tourneys throughout the year, that's about it. I'm a speedball/hyperball player, no woods here. Dont talk to me like I'm stupid I'd just like your input on these two guns. I pretty much know all about the Ion's just nothing about the Impulse. Thanks in advance

go wit the impy. The impulse has almost the same amount of upgrades as the ion, and the parts r generally made of better material. If i saw u on the field with an ion, i would probably throw rocks at u, rather than an imp. U should buy a new reg 4 it an maybye some other stuff, but overall, imps have been around longer, and have better quality parts. ( u could probably get both the ion and impulse to be about the same upgrade-wise, but it the parts are cheaper and probably better 4 the impy)

Thanks for your input. I've decided to get get both the Ion and the Impulse. I'm buying the Ion for $90 and trading my B2K for the Impulse. Both guns have some mods on them (feedneck & asa). So I'm off to a descent start. I'll play with both guns til I findout which one I like better. Then save the other as a backup.
What are both guns strengths & weeknesses?

if ur imp is a older, it's probably slower. Also, because ion's have plastic bodies, they are lighter. But the imp's parts are made of better material, and the impulse will last longer. The impulse also has a very consistant velocity depending on if u have the nice lpr on it.

keep in mind that because the impy is a little older, getting a replacement board for it would be fairly cheap so speed really isn't a major problem, and the old vertical max-flos weren't too bad so a new reg isn't really necessary.

personally, i've shot my friend's impulse, and its hotness. I got a shocker and like that, but impulses have a much better feel weight wise, but it doesnt really matter since u have both of them anywayz
