How Badly..
Hey everybody. I'm buying an Ion w/ Redz parts, and I need to know how badly it will be messed up by using CO2 for a couple of months, maybe longer. I CANNOT afford an N2 tank, used or new so I have to use CO2. How badly will it be messed up by CO2 if I clean it after EVERy use?

3000psi metal HPA tanks are available everywhere very cheap. You can get used for $50 or less or new for under $70.
Take a week or two off from the field and use the paint money for an air tank. You will NOT be satisfied with the performance of the Ion with CO2.
Keep in mind that you need an Anti-siphon CO2 tank for the Ion. That needs to be set up for your marker specifically and they cost upwards of $40 which is very close to the cost of a cheap HPA system. If you are not familiar with how to build an anti-siphon tank, then the proshop has to do it and it will get expensive(for a CO2 tank).
Just hold out until you can get the proper air system or you will be very frustrated and unhappy.

If you ABSOLUTELY cannot afford a steel tank to hold you over until you can buy a decent fiber wrapped tank, then go to your local paintball shop and ask them to install an anti-siphon tube in your CO2 tank. Even with this, you can mess up your pneumatics in the Ion.
Bottom line is.. Get HPA as soon as possible.

If I were you I would save up money for a new tank but if you really want to play then just rent an HPA tank from your field but they usually keep a collateral

Check the hydro date that is on your tank. If it's over 3 years old then it should be retested to make sure that it is safe.
Crossfire is one place that can retest the tank.turn around time is about 2-3 weeks. and will cost about $25 plus shipping

It should be fine, but I'll make sure to check it when I get it. Where do you take it to get it tested again? Does it cost anything?

I'll ask him if it's good. I'll even ask for a pic of the Hydro Test date stamp.
