question: ball detent for impulse

Hi all,

I'm newly back to the paintball scene and went out with my impulse and foudn that the ball detent had busted. So I'm looking for a new one. Does anyone have any suggestions to what to get and where? I'm leaning towards the New Designz ones.

I also see SmartParts has the Ion out... is it on the same level as an Impulse?

Thanks in advance!

punisherpb.com is a good place for parts for SP markers. IMHO a ball detent is a ball detent so get what you like or whatever is cheaper between the NDZ and stock replacements.

I would say that the Ion is not anywhere near the level of an Impulse when compared to what's available today vs. what was available when Impulses were being built. An Ion is definitely an entry level marker, they don't sell them so cheap if by not cutting corners somewhere. Impulses were high level markers back in the day are still very competitive, durable and reliable today.

The Ion is a fine marker and it has a lot of nice features but if I had to choose an Impulse or Ion for the same money(or even a bit more for the Imp) I'd pick the Impulse all day long. Impulses are awesome markers and are built like tanks. The regs are very good and they have a ton of cheap upgrades and spare parts available.

Thanks for the info. I bought the ND detents anyways, since they're actually cheaper that the Smarts Parts detents.

When did they stop manufacturing Impulses? I'm surprised - I love mine. It's kind of a bummer that I see them on sale now for 500 with maxflow. I spent somewhere around a grand on mine, IIRC...

The new Shocker, Nerve and Ion spelled the end of the Impulse. Evolution of the species, I guess.

Check out this site:

[ ZDSPB.com ] - ZDS Paintball

For everything you could possibly want to know about SP markers and some good deals on used parts.
