air leaking at asa
I have a redz ion, and yesterday while i was playing woods ball I noticed a leak coming out of the asa. It started on the opposite side of where the gas line connects( i have pics if needed) Then it started leaking from a very small hole in the bottom.

Apply loc-tite or teflon tape to the leaking threads. Loc-tite is more permanent but will hold up alot better. Teflon tape will work for a while but will not last or be as durrable as loc-tite. I'd go with loc-tite but get blue or red, don't get green or you will never get it off!

Yeah, take it out and Loc-tite it. Also, change the o-ring that is on you're tank.

bah dont loc-tite it. Many air smiths just go and loc-tite stuff but you shouldnt do that, i got a lecture from a very experienced air tech about that. Use teflon tape.

I had a similar problem with an eclipse asa on my ion. It wasn't the loctite, or the teflon on the threads, it turned out to be an o-ring on the piston in the asa. Such a small part, but so many little places to leak.

so if that is the problem, how hard are the o-rings to replace?

Oh, ****. I can't believe that I forgot about that. I used to Loc-tite stuff, and I was also told by my airsmith that you are supposed to use Teflon Tape.

mine has that screw, but that is where it is leaking. I took it out, removed the old tape, and put some new tape on it. Just need to get air to test it.

Regarding the O-ring. It was an easy fix. I had one...it was small, so maybe it is "irregular" or uncommon, and a guy at the field had a dental pick. It slipped right out.
So the part was there, and the tool for the job, so that made it a 30 second job.
