yeah. My place only has recball and woodsball. I've tried speedball but don't really like it. Would the Mini be good for rec / woodsball?

You shouldn't be looking at that mini.

Too complicated for a newb gun, no offense

Mini would do fine, if it shoots paint, it's a good paintball gun >.<

well, I don't really mind guns being complicated. In my beginning experiences with real firearms and airsoft, every gun seems complicated until you learn about them. And my local place is very helpful and they will pretty much tell you everything you need to know about your gun. So complication doesn't matter to me. So it will be either the Mini or the PMR for recball. Which is the most accurate and reliable?

Accuracy depends 99% on paint to barrel match and barrel quality and the shooter.

Reliability, not so sure between the two.

Since you probably won't sell the e99 for as much as you had hoped, does that put a hamper on how much $ you can spend on a new marker? How much exactly do you want to spend now, and what are all the guns you are considering? From what I can see, you are now choosing between a mini and a PMR, right? I do not recommend the Mini, but that's my personal preference. It seems too small to me and I've seen alot of people chopping alot of paint with it at my local fields. The PMR is good, so is the SLG. The SP1 is an OK gun also, and so is the MR1. Don't waste money on the SP8 as you're paying alot more than it's really worth (IMHO). It's like buying an X7 instead of an a5...

Anyways... The PMR ($250), SLG ($200) or the Ion XE ($225) would all be good choices. They all have BOB, so you're OK there. I can't tell you for sure which you should get since each has it's benefits. It all really comes down to what you want, and not what anyone here tells you to buy. I can give you my opinions on each gun and say what's good about them, but the final call is yours to make.

One plus about the Ion XE is that there are a TON of upgrades out there for it. So if you do go with the XE, then you've got tons of stuff that you can do to improve the marker as you grow as a player. Just FYI, the Ion operates at 180psi, and is safe to use with CO2 or HPA. It's max BPS is 17, but that should be fine for rec and woodsball. It comes with a 1 year warranty as well. Also, you'd probably want to upgrade the feedneck, ASA to an On/off ASA, and barrel (eventually).

The Rail has it's benefits as well: 150psi operating pressure, Hyper 2 reg, and shoots 29bps. You get more shots per fill with this vs the XE, but I can't really say how much more. I do know that you'd get between 1200-1500 shots on one fill of a 68/45 HPA tank. Like the XE, you'll also want to upgrade the feedneck, ASA, and eventually the barrel too. Dye/Proto doesn't recommend using CO2 on this gun, but it can be done. Unlike the XE, it only comes with a 90 day warranty. However, don't let warranties affect your decision. Both companies have really good customer service and I doubt they'd give you a hard time if a major flaw was found after the 90 days.

The SLG operates at 145psi and has a 2 piece bolt (Rail uses 1 piece bolt). It'll give you basically the same amount of shots per tank fill as the Rail. The feedneck is a pressure type, so you'd wanna upgrade that (I always prefer clamping). It has a Hyper 3 regulator as well and shoots 25 bps. Like the Rail, 90 day warranty from Dye/Proto. Again, HPA is recommended and CO2 is discouraged but possible. Barrell is also an upgrade you'd want to look into in the future, but not necessary right now. ASA is not on/off, so you'd want to upgrade that too.

So on all of them, you'd have some ugprading to do right out of the box. If it were me, I'd probably upgrade the ASA first (saves the threads on your tank), followed by the feedneck and then the barrel. I'm sure someone else will tell you different.

There are alot of other things you should consider when purchasing a gun. Can you fill CO2 or HPA nearby wherever it is that you play? What's the max pressure they can fill (4500 or 3000)? Can you afford a HPA tank right now, or do you want to go with CO2? (If you go CO2, you definately should get an anti-siphon.) And of course, price is always an issue. So it all comes down to what you can afford and what is best in your particular situation.

I probably confused you more than you already were, but hopefully I've given you some useful information. I wish you luck in your decision.

That wasn't very confusing. It was actuallty very helpful. I would like either the PMR or mini over the XE, but the Ion XE is still a possibility. And I'm willing to spend up to $320 for the mini but it seems a bit pricey for what you get. I like all the features of the PMR like 29 bps, and tank efficiency over the Ion XE. I will use nitro no matter what I get and there is free all day air at my local place.

Out of those 3, your best bet is probably the PMR. I'd definately buy a PMR over any Ion, and the mini is an OK gun but it chops alot more than any other gun I have ever seen or used. Also, it seems a bit small to me and I'd probably have difficulty actually playing with it.

The ion will probably be the hardest to maintain outta all three. and it will not shoot as smooth as the PMR/epiphany, and around the same as the mini.
