VL Genesis Surge II recocking problems
My friend's VL has been leaking, so he gave it to me to fix. I found out that the cup seal and pin doesn't fit very nicely in the valve. It should just slide in, but you have to push it down so it's really in there, otherwise the air would just pass right through everything and leak, which is what was happening. So, I pushed it in, and put the whole gun back together. The tank is full, and screwed in all the way. And now when I cock it back the first time, the hammer catches on the sear, but when I pull the trigger, the trigger doesn't activate the sear. But, when I tap on the back of the bolt pin, forwit slides ard a the selittle bit, like ar moved forward, so now the trigger can activate the sear. But, when I fire, it doesn't recock. It's like the hammer hits the pin in the valve and just sits there, but it doesn't leak. There's absolutely no blowback at all, so it doesn't recock.
Any help?

Something might be wrong with the valve/hammer, id also check the valve spring and recocking spring. Also check the sear for good measure

There's no wear on the sear, and the springs are in fine shape. I'm gonna try relubing the hammer, seems like it gets stuck.

Also make sure you are even getting air to the cup seal or through the marker period. Take off the barrel and fire into your hand. If you're not getting air or not much air, take off the grip and ASA and blow air through all the way through the air line. I had a recocking problem and it turned out to be something jammed in the air line.
Also, if you're having to push the valve pin into the valve that hard, then maybe the hammer isn't even pushing the valve pin out. You do know the cup seal isn't actually supposed to go into the valve? It just sits against it and the air pressure pushing against it makes it seal. Not trying to talk down to you... I figure you knew this... just checking.

Like, I said, it was able to fire. Meaning air was coming out of it fine.
And I know the cup seal sits against the valve, but it wasn't "all the way" against the valve, which left a gap between them where air could just slide right through and leak like the cupseal wasn't even there. I meant the pin didn't fit in the valve good. I had to push the cupseal which is on the end of the pin to get the pin all the way in which made a good seal with the valve and cupseal.
Anyway, I fixed the problem. I replaced an o-ring on the hammer because the one that was on there snapped, and I noticed that the hammer was getting stuck, and was hard to replace back into the marker. So I put a different o-ring on the hammer, which wasn't as thick, and now it slides through just fine, and problem solved.
Thanks anyway guys.
