i spent almost an hour downloading/installing it through steam, and now it doesnt work

i click on it and i get the hour glass like its loading, but then nothing happens. ive sat and waited for 5 minutes for something to happen, but it seems like my computer isnt even attempting to run it. i also went into C:\valve\steam\wherever it is and ran hl2.exe in case it was just a broken shortcut or something, but still no luck. help would be appreciated.

steam is retarded......if you want hl2 youll probably have to buy it. But i wouldt recomend, i have it and its not all that great.

personally from experience.......the hl2/source combo isnt worth the $50 they want for it. It gets old fast and is only midly entertaining to begin with.
