Also, what looks pretty cool is if you get a glow stick and a string and swing it around. It looks awesome. But that's cool man, nice job.
PS. That dog has an extremely long tongue.

Woodbridge mall. I actually wasn't planning on buying the camera right then and there. I just saw it, and the price was $598 + tax which is what most brick and morter stores seem to be charging, so I figured, why not? I was going to go with the D50, but I liked the smaller size and less weight of the D40. I figured that I don't really need the built in auto focus motor since it's not like I'm going to buy 50 lenses. I'll just buy a wide angle and a telephoto. Other than that I'm not really losing out on any major features compared to the D50. If I decide I really want to get into it in the future than I'll step up. For right now it's plenty.
By the way, I was looking at the Nikon AF-S 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens since it's pretty inexpensive and seems to pick up where the kit lens stops. How much more of a zoom would that be? What does the f/4-5.6G mean too? How does that compare to the f/3.5-5.6G lens that comes with the camera (sorry, lenses and F-stop numbers confuse me right now)?

Nice man. I messed around with a d40 for a few hours at work when we had one in stock. (quit now, but long story). Its definitely a solid little camera.
Pertaining to the questions about the 55-200/4.5-5.6-
1. Zoom - Its 200 mm. My best advice is to go to a store and slap it on. Also, I have a Nikkor 70-300/4.5-5.6 you can give a whirl. It's pretty inexpensive.
2. f/4-5.6 means the F stops at different lengths of the zoom lens. Figure at 55mm, the widest the lens can open up is an fstop of 4. It then goes proportionately to fstop of 5.6 at 200mm.
F stops are how wide a lens can open. The wider the lens can open, the more light it can let in. An Example(same iso), fstop of 2.8 would yield say 1/125th of a shutter speed for a composition. Then you stop down to fstop 8(sharpest of most lenses), and your shutter speed will have to slow down to about 1/60th(Rough numbers). Also, the wider the f stop(or aperture), the shallower the depth of field. Say you want a huge scenic picture, you'd want to stop down to get everything in focus. If you wanted just the headlight of a car to be infocus and the rest to be kinda oof, then you can open up.
If you want example pictures, I can do my best.

That makes a bit more sense then what I've been reading.
Anyway, I saw that 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor as well. What would you reccomend, that or the 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor? The 70-300mm is around $600, the 55-200mm is around $200. Is it worth the extra $400 to go with the 70-300mm or would the 55-200mm be enough for basic stuff and then if I need it later on I could buy a more capable lens (like that $5000 200 mm - 400 mm f/4.0 G ED-IF AF-S VR I saw).
I was also looking at a Nikon 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G, which isn't bad at ~$400. I was thinking that might be the way to go for a basic "do everything" lense. Since it gives me the capability of the 18-55mm that is on there now, plus I get a bit more zoom for when I want it. Not quite as much as the other two though.
I guess I have to go play around with them.

The 70-300 VR vs the 55-200, 70-300 VR everytime no doubt. The VR is amazing, its called Vibration Reduction. It basically acts as a tripod. It allows you to stop down and have slower shutter speeds, yet still keep it sharp.
Think about the lens before you purchase,a nd try one out. The 135 is only a 135. See what you want.
