So yeah, I've had itunes 5 since I got my ipod last year and i finally decided to download the update. Like all updates that I dl for any program I can possibly think of, the new version doesn't work.

Here are my problems. The music store doesn't work, I get a pop up telling me my Internet doesn't work, which I know it does. Since my store doesn't work it completely messes up everything else. I can't download the updates for my ipod, when I import a cd the cddb doesn't work because it can't access the Internet to get the track names for the cd. So I have to manually put the damn cd names in myself. I tried downloading the old version but it said something about the library was created by a newer version of itunes. So I'm stuck with a dysfunctional itunes. Anyone had this problem? Thanks for any help.

P.S.-There has to be something wrong with my computers firewall or something. I dled the newest FireFox because it forced me to, and of course that didn't work. I was forced to use IE due to the fact that FireFox doesn't work. Since I was stuck with IE I decided to dl IE7, guess what, that didn't work either. So I'm stuck with IE5 or something. So basically, I HATE UPDATES.

OK.... First thing you need to do is get firefox. Trust me, it will be better for everyone.

www.getfirefox.com

Then, go to control panel> add/remove programs, and uninstall itunes and install the latest versian

Well thats what I was saying. I did just dl the new version of itunes and it doesnt work. Same with firefox, I had the old one and as soon as I dled the new one it didnt work. Its something with newer programs and my firewall, because all new programs have troubles on my comp.

I think your pretty much **** out of luck.

The thing about repairing software issues with windows is that its hard, sometimes impossible. Usually the best way to fix it is preventative maintainance. I suggest you reformat your disc drive(s), and this time, keep everything organized and keep track of your downloads.
