I Hate Windows
For a variety of reasons, really, but this time it's something really specific:
If a program has an error under Windows, you are ****ed.
Let me explain...
Sure, it pops up with a little box telling me that things have ****ed up, but there is nothing helpful in this box to correct the problem. I'm not saying that with Linux there are no errors and things don't crash, because if I did that would be a lie. I have had thing crash while using Linux, but when they crash they usually give me an error message of some sort, with a code or something, that I can usually use to search the internet, locate a problem, and make the necessary changes to get everything working as it should. The closest thing I have to that with this instance is this:
Awesome—something totally cryptic and too long to make any sense of. So what's happening? I have to deal with Winamp crashing after playing half of a song each time I open it up, or use the considerably larger and more annoying Windows Media Player while I continue to use the family computer.

My winamp actually does that same thing a lot. Its pretty damn annoying, I must say.
There does seem to be anything at all I can do about it.

Do you have your Ipod or some other mp3 that is being managed by Winamp plugged in?
I have this problem with winamp when I have my Ipod plugged into it. But it usually doesnt make it halfway.
Really pisses me off. but it doesnt do it all the time and there's no way I'm using Itunes.

I think I'm showing my brother and my mom how to use Linux tonight, so that might resolve the issue. Either way, I still need to get my computer in working condition once again.

The problem, to a large extent, is not windows, but bad 3rd party programs.
As a programmer myself, time is always super-critical. So, to save time you usually rely alot on preinstalled DLL's (like Win32, MFC, .NET, and all the small ones)
Problem is the behavior of those DLL's is not always fully known, and often they get updated, or replaced by other versions of software. Causing your own program to fail, unless it can be upgraded to adapt. etc..etc
Linux is nice because all the preinstalled routines are open-source, so the behavior is fully predictable.
Macs also are good in that the preinstalled routines are harder to change, again, making them predictable.
So blame bad programmers... just not me.

So when are you making LovecraftOS to take care of all these issues?

I wasn't exactly blaming Windows for the behavior, but rather complaining, since it's a (mostly) Windows specific problem.
For example: Even when I have errors compiling and installing apps, which is something totally incomprehensible to most people, I can quickly Google the error message and with some luck have it figured out and working within a matter of minutes. This is almost never the case with Windows.
I think I'm getting my computer fixed soon, so I suppose I just have to hold on for a bit longer.
