Definitely not.
It's not even worth getting it for free unless you're going to sell it.
I got a new laptop and it had Vista. It wouldn't work with half of the programs I used, the GUI, while nice looking, sucked up way too much memory, and it was ****ing glitchy with all the aero ****.
I ended up installing XP from an old disc I had from my old computer. Sure XP is not as pretty and is missing a couple features that never get used anyways, but overall XP just works better.
Most people just want Vista for the GUI and the fancy aero crap, but if you're gonna fork over 300-400 for Vista just for the GUI, you might as well buy a mac.

I've heard a lot of stuff wont work on it? Like what wont? I have put a lot of my games on it WoW, all my steam games, and some others and everything works fine... mine isn't glitchy and my memory rarely goes to the red.
I dont think its bad... just useless.. like I said make sure your computer can handle it.

Let's see. The newest version of Google Earth continuously ****ed up when I first started it up, or if I got lucky and it loaded all the way, it would **** up when I searched for something. Illustrator took about 20 minutes to copy to paste anything, Spy Doctor would crash in the middle of a search. Lots of other **** too, just small stuff that really starts to piss ya off after a while.

Adobe Illustrator is a program used for graphic design, in laymans terms, it's comparable to photoshop.
Spy Doctor is just my spyware scanning program of choice.
