this thing has me stumped beyond belief.

the sound on her computer doesnt work. The speakers are fine, they play through other devices. But the computer doesnt output to anything. I have checked all settings and unmuted everything, but i dont get it. it might have something to do with the sound card. i dont think its broken, as this is a very new tower (probably new internals as well).

besides that, the computer glows blue.

Right click My Computer > Manage > Device Manager. See what the sound driver says.

Check the sound card drivers if you haven't already. If it's a very new tower, then it should come with a CD with all standard drivers needed to run your OS and basic functions (sound being one of them).

If the computer doesn't have a driver CD, then go the manufacturer website and it will most likely have the drivers that you're looking for.

Checked drivers and it's saying nothing is wrong? Uninstall/reinstall the drivers. Sound still doesn't work? Contact the manufacturer because you most likely have a faulty sound card.

not at her house i dont. I posted that and left, came back the next day and i figured by the time i got a response from my next post i would be home so i said forget it.

not that important anyhow, she can get someone else to do it, she says she knows a guy but wanted to see if i could try.
